Training or Masochism?

by Gee Why on September 30, 2005

in Uncategorized

Sometimes I wonder why I take work-related training. It seems the more information and education I get, the more I see and understand how messed up my work environment is. Before training, I had a feeling that things weren’t the best, but after training, I know things are not right and can now [...]

"I am a rubber"

by Gee Why on September 29, 2005

in Uncategorized

While watching today’s KHON2 morning news, there was a segment about a failed bank robbery attempt at a local Central Pacific Bank. Supposedly, the individual passed a note to a bank teller that said, “I am a rubber.”
I don’t know if the teller was afraid or amused?
Update: I found the on-line article about [...]

Tupac Shakur is Unreal!

by Gee Why on September 27, 2005

in Uncategorized

Tupac Shakur has got to be the greatest entertainer of all time. What’s the factoid again? He’s had more albums released after his death in 1996. After his death! Now, a movie he had written called “Live 2 Tell” is being produced. Maybe Tupac isn’t really gone after all…

Remember these shoes from back in the day? They’ve been modernized with new colors and even some fleece!
No, I won’t be getting these, just reminiscing . Never did own a pair of Vans. Hmmm, if I had to guess, I would say Wayne’s World and T rocked the original Vans??

For this edition of Listmania, what songs should be playing at Club 939? You know, what songs would get [insert the name of a single male with lots of cash, like Shaun or Wayne] in the mood to give up that hard-earned cash?
I’ll start off with a few (iTunes needed to listen):

Gold Digger, Kanye [...]

Hangin On by Camile Velasco

by Gee Why on September 24, 2005

in Uncategorized

Almost missed this one. Local girl and American Idol, Camile Velasco, released her new single Hangin On on the iTunes Music Store.
At 99-cents (a fourth of the cost of a iced grande, non-fat caramel macchiato at Starbucks, $4.01 in Hawaii), buying this song ain’t no wallet-buster. Support the local talent and give it [...]

Exciting end to the season finale (already!) of BSG. This show was brutal, comparing the humane ways of the Galactica and the cut-throat ways of the Pegasus. So many questions!

Will that clash of vipers from the Galactica and Pegasus happen?
Is the Pegasus for real? And if so, how did it survive without [...]

Somehow ended up watching the premiere of the Ghost Whisperer on CBS. Starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Aisha Tyler, the show’s about Love Hewitt’s character seeing and talking to spirits who need help moving on.
More watchable than Bones, but I don’t know if the show can survive the Friday night time slot. Is [...]

Mr. Peterman, aka John O’Hurley, won the Dancing with the Stars Dance Off against former champ Kelly Monaco. His perfect score waltz won it for him.
Did you see Kelly Monaco’s face when she lost? Not her best acting performance.

Asia-Pacific Homeland Security Summit

by Gee Why on September 22, 2005

in Life

Got to attend the Asia-Pacific Homeland Security Summit for work. A bunch of State, Federal, and DoD bigwigs were in attendance though I missed seeing Governor Linda Lingle.
Since this is a security summit and all, security was tight. The Sheriff’s Department and National Guardsmen were out in force, guard dogs were patrolling, metal [...]

Smallville Starts on Sept 29

by Gee Why on September 22, 2005

The new season of Smallville is starting next week Thursday, September 29. I think at the end of last season, Clark was transported to his future Fortress of Solitude while Smallville was being pummeled by meteors.
James Marsters who played Spike on Buffy and Angel’s shows is supposed to make an appearance this season.
