One more look at my precious…

Office Woes

by Gee Why on September 12, 2005

in Uncategorized

Ever seen the movie Office Space? I’m living this nightmare right now. Came to work and found my desk had been dismantled and taken away and my personal stuff left on the floor or scattered around.
Where’s my red stapler?

Starstruck

by Gee Why on September 10, 2005

in Uncategorized

Caught up with recent talks about stars, Jessica Alba, Kalai Miller, and the KITV news dudes, I’ve been inspired to report more celebrity news.
Diets of the stars have always been popular, and now Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff have adopted the waif thin, sickly look. To see how this works, I’ll be eating grapefruit [...]

by Gee Why on September 9, 2005

in Uncategorized

Added a banner in the top right corner of Pulpconnection to promote donating to the Red Cross for Katrina relief efforts. The banner simply takes you to the Red Cross web site where you can make a donation.
If you want to add the same banner, the code and information is available here.

Ran across three local celebrities while in the Ward area today. While eating lunch at Kakaako Kitchen, saw KITV news dudes Dan Meisenzahl and Rob DeMello.
Then the highlight of the day must have been seeing No Ka Oi classmate, Clifford “Kalai” Miller at Borders. It was great to see the buffed up actor [...]

Another draining day at work for all the wrong reasons… Lunch was good.

Be sure to check out the video stream of the Apple Special Music Event where the iPod Nano and ROKR were introduced. You gotta watch Steve Jobs do one of these events if you haven’t had the chance. It’s an experience.
Fast forward to the highlights:

Walter Mossberg reviews the new iPod Nano in his latest technology column. He admits that he’s smitten by the Nano, and it shows. Assistant Katie is nowhere mentioned in this review with Walt hogging the Nano for himself the entire time.
The last line of the review says it all:
It sure is [...]

Jessica Alba in Hawaii?

by Gee Why on September 7, 2005

in Pulp

Can it be true? Is Wayne’s World favorite Honey here in Hawaii? Rumors have Jessica Alba and Paul Walker golfing at Ko Olina today. The two are starring in the upcoming movie Into the Blue releasing September 30, 2005.
Wild speculation has the pair visiting Club 939 during their stay.

Instead of simply updating the iPod Mini, Apple raised the bar and surprised folks with the Nano. So small with a color screen! I don’t need another iPod, do I?Maybe I don’t need another [...]

Thomas Fargo on Leadership

by Gee Why on September 5, 2005

in Uncategorized

As former head of the Pacific Command, our one-time boss, Thomas Fargo, had this to say about leadership in the Advertiser’s Leadership Corner column:
People think that in the military you just bark out orders and they’re followed. But fundamentally it doesn’t matter what organization you’re in, people need to understand the compelling logic of your [...]

Wasting Time at Work

by Gee Why on September 5, 2005

in Uncategorized

Salary.com did a survey that looks at how employees waste time at work. Okay, okay, I admit that I’ve done all the things listed in the Top Time-Wasting Activities including #4 Spacing Out. But the entire state of Hawaii is in the #3 spot for not wasting time so it’s all good. [...]

It’s finally reached Hawaii. On past years trips to Cali, I’ve been guzzling this stuff down. It’s yummy! Yes, I’ve even had this [...]

Exchanged for Vapors

by Gee Why on September 3, 2005

Found some Nike Vapors for the same price as the Zoom Team Editions so I exchanged them. Maybe if there’s a clearance on the Zoom Teams, I’d pick them up again. The Vapors were too different to pass up. You either love’em or hate’em.
