New Apple Products

Today’s Apple Special Event wasn’t as exciting as the previous one with the video iPod. Today, we see the release of updated PowerBooks at a reduced cost and new PowerMacs. The PowerMacs continue to use the G5 PowerPC chip with the G4 in the PowerBooks, but the PowerMacs feature dual and even quad cores. The new video architecture of the PowerMacs can push video to 4(!!) Apple 30-in Cinema Displays. Holy moley that’s a lot of screen real estate. How do you fit four 30-in screens on your desk?

Oh yeah, Aperture, a professional-level app for photographers, has been announced as well.

Read a recap of the Special Events.
