Don’t know how legit this local story is, but Tannya Joaquin from KHON reported it so maybe there’s some truth to it.
A Mililani mom bought her son a video iPod from the Ala Moana Wal-Mart for Christmas, but when he opened the box, he found a piece of mystery meat (spam?) wrapped up instead of the iPod.
Maybe, she just got the latest, not-yet-released organic iPod that uses cells to hold data?
Update: Seems like there’s been at least one more of these iSpams reported. An update of the story is now available. Thanks, Tabasco Man.

Yeah, I saw that last night and thought that this needs to be posted. What’s up with Apple, “could not be reached for comment”?
They were too busy laughing at the poor dude that go the iSpam. Or probably doing their own investigation. The story just does sound believable.
Looks like it is a true story according to this link. Seems it was an “inside” job.
