Woo hoo! My Google AdSense advertising is actually paying off. For the month of April that had about 695 hits, I accumulated a whopping $1.08 in my AdSense account.
Yay, a round of waters is on me!

Fireswamp denizen, Kazuo, explained to me what a “self-licking ice cream cone” was a few years back after he used it on me. I forget the subject we were discussing, but that was the first time I heard that phrase.
Brings back memories as some recent ventures appear to be self-licking ice cream [...]

There’s a rumor that supermodel, Gisele, has done a photo shoot for an upcoming Apple ad campaign. Not sure what she’ll be promoting. Maybe she’ll be sporting a new MacBook like Yao and his PowerBook a few years back.

I’m by no means a professional movie critic, and heck, I haven’t seen a flick in about a year (Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith was the last one I think). I got a chance to watch X-Men: The Last Stand on opening day and instead of writing a review, how [...]

Check out the new t-shirt design for Club 939. The new shirts are white unlike the original black tees.
Oh yeah, don’t bother heading to the club on Monday. They’re closed for business while employees are treated to a company retreat. Yep, you heard me. Fostering teamwork and cooperation is vital to [...]

Apple recently updated its web-publishing app, iWeb, adding new features. The 1.1 (and 1.1.1) updates now support comments on blog entries, adds a search function, and includes new themes along with behind-the-scenes fixes.
Check out some of these new features on my test iWeb site.

Thursday Was a Hit!

Just a little more proof that blog searching sites like Technorati work. Yesterday, Pulpconnection received 142 hits, a record high. The main draw was the post about the Top Chef finale and most of the hits funneled through Technorati.
In a typical day, Pulpconnection gets about 30 hits. I made the Top Chef [...]

Just one last tidbit from the Top Chef finals. Here are the results from my unofficial, on-line poll of who will be Top Chef.

Even in this poll, Harold was the clear favorite. I started the poll before part one of the final competition so Dave Martin was a valid choice.
Thanks to everyone who [...]

I’m only a fair-weather Lost follower but did watch the taped season finale (since Top Chef was ending). Some answers were finally provided but of course, more mysteries arose. Pushing that darn button every 108 minutes actually does something and isn’t just a psych experiment. If you don’t reset the timer, Magneto [...]

Learned about this special collection of shoes and clothing celebrating “the true shot-callers” while skimming the HypeBeast. The Collection Royale features “players who give us a glimpse into the future of the playing field.”
In the current pack are:

Lebron James, the King of Spades
Serena Williams, the Queen of Hearts
Ronaldinho, the Ten of Clubs
Michael Vick, the [...]

If you like watching and listening to old men bring the depressing and desolate news to you, NBC is going to be the first broadcast news organization to offer news programming through iTunes. Some of those hot men include Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw. Probably better than Kirk Matthews.

I’m still catching up with the whole Nike+iPod partnership with all the news articles coming out. So far everything I’ve seen talks about an iPod Nano. I wonder if I can use my regular iPod instead since I don’t have a Nano. Looks like the wireless receiver in the Nike+iPod Sport Kit [...]

The Top Chef Is…

by Gee Why on May 25, 2006

And your American Idol is Taylor Hicks! The reason the plane crashed on the island is… Sorry, from the powerhouse finales on Wednesday night, the big news was Harold Dieterle, the self-described “cook,” won the Top Chef competition. The final elimination featured an all out five-course meal for the judges without any gimmicks. [...]

Motherhood has not been kind to Britney Spears with paparazzi and entertainment magazines showing pictures of the new mom’s mistakes. There was the driving with baby on her lap incident, baby’s fall off a high chair, and most recently, Britney’s near fall while holding Sean Preston. Instead of bemoaning Britney’s maternal abilities, moms [...]

Adidas announced their Adidas_1 Basketball shoe, the computer that hoops. The microprocessor-controlled motor embedded in the shoe adjusts cushioning and support to match your style of play. Think high flying acrobatics of [...]

Do your friends ever send you unsolicited junk mail? You know those chain emails that you’re supposed to forward to 5 more individuals or those cheery (and sappy) words of inspiration. Or better yet, how about info on the latest hoaxes going around the Internet or worse yet, notices about team building events?
What [...]

My on-line poll of “Who Will Be Top Chef?” is still open for votes. Here’s the current tally.

The choice is now between Harold and Tiffani, so make your pick of who will be Top Chef come Wednesday’s finale.

Who will be crowned Top Chef?

Harold Dieterle. Silent, confident, and skilled.

Tiffani Faison. Ambitious and determined.

Dave [...]
