Need Some Mac Mojo?

by Gee Why on August 31, 2006

Company and business blogs continue to pop up, and the Macintosh Business Unit within Microsoft is going the blogosphere. They’ve launched their blog, Mac Mojo, to talk about life working in the MacBU.
So far, the posts are okay. Nothing overly exciting, but you get to hear about the inner workings of Microsoft from [...]

There’s rumblings of an Apple Special Event coming up on September 12, the opening day of Apple Expo 2006 in Paris. Although Steve Jobs won’t be on hand to give a keynote, BusinessWeek had previously hinted that an Apple movie store would open up in mid-September. Coincidental?
There are other rumors that an updated [...]

Yahoo and its Flickr service is offering a new feature where you can “geotag” your Flickr pictures. What’s that mean? Using Yahoo maps, you can find a specific location then drag and drop your Flickr pictures on to the map. A little waypoint appears on the map that associates/geotags your picture with [...]

New Balance Kicks

by Gee Why on August 27, 2006

After seeing Russell Tanoue in action wearing his fly New Balance kicks, I’m kinda liking the updated retro look of these shoes. Kicks Hawaii is featuring this new colorway of the New Balance 574.
Part of the Varsity Pack, it’s reminiscent of those high school letterman jackets. Nice!

Three new Get a Mac television commercials are now airing. Go check out how Apple makes fun of spyware for PCs, touts their new magnetically connected power adapter, and enables the creation of cool “arts and crafts.”
Do yourself a favor and get a Mac. Then you can go hang out at Starbucks and look [...]

Season 4 of Nip/Tuck starts on Tuesday, September 5. This first episode guest stars Brooke Shields. What kind of demented story-lines are in store this season?

After going to the Aquarium, we decided to stroll around Waikiki since we’re rarely in the neighborhood. As we start our walk right outside of the Aquarium, I see this dude wearing some fly New Balance kicks (shoe fanatics see shoes first before faces). Then it hit me. That’s none other than [...]

Went to the Waikiki Aquarium to show our daughter different kinds of fish since she seems to like them. Haven’t been to the Aquarium for years, so it was kinda neat to see what was there again. The jellyfish are fun to watch floating around. There’s some big fish on display.I never heard of [...]

Yeah, the 2007 Lexus ES350 is nice, but the 2007 Cadillac Escalade is downright pimpin’. Just check’um.
Look da chrome and check that shine. Watch out now!

A short preview of Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica returning in October.
I like the way the show centers around the problems and issues of its characters rather than simply making it a humans versus Cylons battle. The human shortcomings are the reason why the Cylons exist in the first place.

Dell’s flash-based MP3 player called the Ditty must have been s**tty cause it’s no more. Dell pulled the plug on this iPod Shuffle competitor after previously discontinuing its hard disk music players. Dell now only sells music players from other companies like Sandisk and Creative.
First came (and went) the Sony Bean. Now [...]

Was never a big fan of the Lexus ES series. It always reminded me of a fancier Toyota Camry or Avalon, but the 2007 model looks good. There’s some styling from the sporty Lexus IS and a hint of the new Camry rolled in.

Shoeheads will be feeding their kicks addiction with the upcoming release of Slam’s annual Kicks issue. For nine summers, Slam has dedicated an entire issue just to kicks.
Kicks #9 hits the newsstands on August 22. I’m getting the shakes already!

That’s the goal of NBA guard, Stephon Marbury, of the NY Knicks. Stephon’s doing his own thing, forgoing kicks powerhouses like Nike, adidas, and And1. Teaming with Steve and Barrys, Stephon has his own shoe line called the Starbury that sells for only $15.

The black and ice blue Dunk Highs talked about earlier will in fact be those representing Dontrelle Willis in Nike’s Collection Royale series.
Probably the best looking pair of kicks in the collection. Supposedly only available at niketown.com on October 9 for $90. These will sell out.
