Yahoo and Flickr Geotagging

Yahoo and its Flickr service is offering a new feature where you can “geotag” your Flickr pictures. What’s that mean? Using Yahoo maps, you can find a specific location then drag and drop your Flickr pictures on to the map. A little waypoint appears on the map that associates/geotags your picture with that map location. Neato.

Here’s an example I tried with 4 pictures. Hope it works.

Oops! I think it’s a permissions thing. When adding pictures, I got asked if I wanted to let the general public see and I said no. I gave access to my Flickr friends and family so if you got a Flickr account my map may work okay.

Got to figure out how to change the permissions…

Okay, changed the permission so that the general public can view my map with images. Try it again.

I tried again to change privacy settings on the actual pictures used. Hope that was it. If not then oh well…
