Dwyane Wade’s Looking for a 2nd Opinion

Dwyane Wade is looking for a second opinion on how to proceed with his shoulder dislocation injury. His main options are season ending surgery or rehabilitation with a six week return.

Dwyane, if you didn’t get my first opinion, I’ll offer a second opinion – get the surgery. Rehab and return to the NBA after 6 weeks? Yeah right. Six to eight weeks is the typical recovery timeframe for any major injury, but that is just for the recovery period. This doesn’t mean your body and your shoulder is in playing shape. Say you go the rehab route and return with 10 games left to play in the NBA regular season then enter the playoffs. You will dislocate your shoulder again in the playoffs. With the physicality of the postseason, your shoulder will give out. It won’t be strong enough to endure additional punishment. Then you’ll be forced into surgery at that point.

So why take the chance. Shut it down now and take care of yourself. Go to the White House and press flesh with the W, be a cheerleader for the Heat while sitting on the bench, work on your outside business ventures to build up the Dwyane megabrand, just don’t get back on the court this season.
