Egads! Apple just announced their annual Back to School special where you buy a qualifying Mac and get big discounts or a free iPod. This year, Apple is covering the $299 cost of an 8-GB iPod Touch! You can also apply the discount to a Nano or bigger capacity Touch, but getting the “low end” Touch for free is way cool. Buy a MacBook for $999 and get a $299 Touch for free – sounds like a winning deal.
Looking to upgrade your current Mac? A family member interested in going Mac? Now’s a good time to buy where you can barter your Mac expertise and consultation into a iPod Touch or Nano. What would your parents do with an iPod anyways? 
I guess this blowout also means new Touches are on their way. Promotion runs from June 3, 2008 through September 15, 2008.
