Technorati’s annual State of the Blogosphere report is rolling out this week. It’s an interesting but maybe somewhat limited look at the trends and characteristics of blogs and bloggers.

Each day, a new topic is published. So far, Who are the Bloggers? and The What and Why of Blogging are available. The How of Blogging, Blogging for Profit, and Brands Enter the Blogosphere round out the week.

I think I fit most of the descriptions outlined in The What and Why of Blogging. Pulpconnection contains multiple topics loosely centering around pulp, passions, and addictions of mine.

“Half of bloggers consider their style to be sincere, conversational, humorous, and expert in nature.” Yeah, I’d go with that.

“Self expression and sharing expertise are the top reasons for blogging.” Yup, yup.

“Personal satisfaction is the key success metric for three out of four bloggers.” Must be since revenue around here is paltry. While blogging is mostly for fun, once in awhile you get monetary surprises. Let’s see, for the month of September, Google Adsense says I’ve earned $6.82.

“Blogging has opened up unique opportunities” and has benefits. I still got my Vudu box for an occasional flick. :)
