Journey from Glee to Arnel

Finally got around to watching the pilot episode of Glee, and it was entertaining! Kinda quirky with lots of high school stereotypes, but the music was great. Major props for covering Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’.

You can get the Glee cast version of Don’t Stop Believin’ on Glee Cast - Don't Stop Believin' (Glee Cast Version) - Single - Don't Stop Believin' (Glee Cast Version).

And speaking of Journey, I had to listen to vintage Journey songs after watching Glee. Then I started reading about Journey’s new lead singer from the Philippines, Arnel Pineda. What a story! This vocal replica of Steve Perry was discovered on YouTube and sounds awesome. Listen and watch this Journey concert at Chile, especially Only the Young at around the 6:00 mark. Without the video, I would have thought Steve Perry all the way. Wow.

And don’t forget to follow Glee on Twitter.

Arnel performed with Journey here a few months ago. Incredible show.

I was looking for a blog post on the Hawaii Blog about the concert. I must have been remembered your tweets from the concert. Arnel and Steve sound the same so it trips me out when I see that Arnel is performing instead of Steve.

You’re right, I didn’t blog it. Shame on me! I did tweet and moblog my brains out, though. We’re listening to a lot of Journey now, new and old, trying to expose our 11-year-old daughter to something other than Rihanna. We agree that Arnel mimics Steve Perry incredibly well.
