Do you think Hawaii drivers are bad? Now there’s some evidence validating your hunch. In a small survey taken nationwide, Hawaii drivers ranked 45 out of the 50 states on a written DMV test. Hawaii’s average score was 76.3% and I am sad to say that I brought down Hawaii’s score.
I took [...]

Yeah, the drug Viagra is there to help men “perform,” but who knew it could help you on the baseball diamond? Seems like The Rocket and other MLBers pop a purple pill to enhance their on-the-field performance. Just how do you throw a fastball while ragin against erectile dysfunction?
Those post-game locker room interviews [...]

I don’t visit YouTube enough to notice when they started providing stats and analytics for your personally contributed videos. Here’s a screen shot of my stuff over the past two weeks.
The Demographics is pretty revealing. My stuff is popular with more females and attracts the young (0-18), peaks with my peer group (35-45), [...]

Just having fun with family members after a botched gift. My sister-in-law created a homemade DVD for her husband but had problems playing the DVD+RW burned disc in a home DVD player. She called me for tech support saying that the DVD player kept showing the message “disc is dirty.”
At that point, I [...]

Thanks to Coco Bean

by Gee Why on June 5, 2008

in Uncategorized

Special thanks to Coco Bean who I got to work with over the past few days. Her work and effort had some interesting outcomes that paved the way for some change, slight as it might be. When I first brought up her work, the bosses were puzzled. Then as they understood, they [...]

Losing It

by Gee Why on June 4, 2008

in Uncategorized

Noticed I’ve been losing it over the past few weeks. Forgetting all kinds of stuff, reading emails but forgetting to act on them. Letting things slip through the cracks.
Scary.

It’s been years, but hey, it’s finally paid off. I got my first check from Google’s AdSense program!

I spent some of the proceeds on wishful thinking, buying ProBlogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income. You just never know what blogging could bring.

Just where does the time go? I haven’t posted in a few days! That used to be unheard of, trying to post 2-3 times a day. That ratio has long since been busted, and I can see a direct correlation with the drop in number of visitors.
Still though Pulpconnection just passed the [...]

Just filled up gas in our two vehicles, and the total cost was about $136 ($73 and $63). Yikes!
No Kobe Hyperdunks for me. Give me them $10 Big Bens!

Blood Donation

by Gee Why on May 28, 2008

in Uncategorized

Gave blood for the very first time. Not as painful as I would have thought. The hole left by the needle was surprisingly big.
Was over in no time, but not as quick as the Tabasco Man and his steroid pumping blood stream.

Just upgraded my iMac with the latest Mac OS X 10.5.3 update. Downloaded and ran the 500+ MB Combo Updater instead of using Software Update since I hear the Combo Updates usually have fewer install issues. Right now, I don’t need more issues with my just repaired iMac.

Beware the WDC

by Gee Why on May 27, 2008

That’s now two hard drives made by Western Digital (WDC) that have failed on me. I got my iMac back from the Apple Store after one week in the shop, and what was the fix? Change out the original WDC internal drive and replace with a Seagate (ST3500630AS Q). Fortunately, my data [...]

Has the next generation iPhone hit the shores of America? Check out this article touting the delivery of 188 ocean containers of “electric computers.”
Very suspicious.

I’m not a fan, but read that this season of American Idol is dull and boring. The reason for this? The contestants are simply too good, losing the show’s angle of giving a chance to the underdog amateur. Thinking about this a bit, maybe that’s why reality television shows, Top Chef [...]

HFMD Affects Macs?

by Gee Why on May 14, 2008

Who woulda though HFMD affects Macintosh computers? My recent iMac went down this morning, and this one looks bad. The internal drive isn’t acting quite right. The boot CD Disk Utility can see the drive, but it looks unformatted.
Ack!
