  • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Cat Paw Toy As a non-cat person, I really don’t get this cat paw toy. Personally, this toy kinda creeps me out. But then again, I’m not a cat person. OR maybe I don’t understand the true meaning of this toy. As a holiday gift, the receiver can figure out if this toy is what Anna Kendrick says it is. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Next Keyboard I’ll be honest. This gift is actually for myself and won’t be available until February 2015. But when you tout your product as the “perfect keyboard for the iPhone,” the wait is worthwhile for the Next Keyboard. Slide on the space bar to move the cursor? Genius. My personal favorite, no confusing shift keys. Swipe key entry for one handers. Handy. No “full access” needed. That always scared me. And there’s more, but all you have to know is that the product resonates with iPhone users witnessed by complete backing after days of its Kickstarter launch. You have $5 to spare for the “perfect keyboard for the iPhone” right? Merry Christmas to you!
  • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: 10TB Drives Forget hard disks that can store 8 terabytes of data. That’s so two weeks ago! Your digital packrat deserves two more terabytes like these new Western Digital 10TB, Ultrastar He10, drives. Yes, these drives are filled with helium that provide less resistance than oxygen and data is recorded on tracks shingled analogous to roof shingles. All in all, the size limit of 4-6 TB drives is shattered by the Ultrastar He10. Not so fast on buying this gift though. Pricing hasn’t been announced but don’t be shocked to see price tags upwards of $1000.

  • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: APL Vision Basketball Shoes Banned in the NBA for providing players with an undue competitive advantage, you may see shoes made by Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL) on the neighborhood courts. Outfitted with APL’s special Load ‘N Launch technology, these kicks supposedly give you more hops. I’m not talking Spud Webb springs but hey, if your dream is to jam one home, then maybe the Load ‘N Launch is the missing piece. According to the company’s FAQ, the average increase in jumping ability is 3.5 inches. An added 3.5 inches to your vertical ain’t nothing to ignore. Perhaps you can be like 5-5 tall Porter Maberry, throwing’em down in APLs. Check out the APL basketball and now running shoes this holiday season. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Underoos (for Adults) So dressing up as He-Man or your favorite comic book character during Halloween was fun but short lived right? What if you could dress up everyday? • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Carbon Fiber iPhone 6 Case Getting a case for your iPhone is a somewhat complicated choice. Protection, weight, looks, feel, cost – there are so many variables to consider before making your pick. For example, take this awesome looking iPhone 6 case constructed out of carbon fiber. Made by Carbon Trim Solutions, this case is stylish in gloss or matte and affords great protection. But it does cost roughly $80. But just look at it, and the cost becomes more palatable. Well, as a holiday gift, I surely wouldn’t complain upon receiving this unique-looking case. I’m leaning more towards the muted matte finish hint, hint. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Arist, Your Personal Barista Coffee-based items are mainstays on Pulpconnection’s annual Holiday Gift guides, and 2014 is no different with Arist, your personal barista. Arist is yet another Kickstarter innovation, blending technology with coffee. Can’t get better than that right? With an accompanying smartphone app, you can download various coffee drink recipes, and Arist will concoct that drink. That’s your personal barista right there. Watch this promotional video to learn more. This holiday gift is going for a $299 Kickstarter pledge but later the price of the Arist goes to $349. Since we are talking Kickstarter, the product won’t be available immediately (read this holiday season). Funding goals have already been reached so that’s an excellent sign looking forward to the projected June 2015 launch date of Arist. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Jamaal Charles Jersey (for Women) This caught me by surprise, but according to Dick’s Sporting Goods (which is not in Hawaii), women in Hawaii are fans of Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs whose jersey is the best selling in the Aloha state. So a safe holiday gift for the female NFL fan could be Jamaal’s #25 jersey that’s #1 in Hawaii. A limited edition women’s jersey is ahem only $145. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Hello Kitty Beats Sanrio’s Kitty White aka Hello Kitty is turning 40 years old this year so a commemorative gift celebrating this milestone has to be these special Hello Kitty Beats headphones – $150 for the urbeats model or $250 for the solo2. As a holiday gift, either of these will visually and aurally excite any HK fan. As a bonus, Costco’s Connection magazine has an informative article about the history of Hello Kitty. Did you know she (not a cat) lives in London and weighs about three apples? Look inside > HELLO KITTY More suggestions from the Pulpconnection Holiday Gift Guide, 2014 edition. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: LeBron 12 A holiday gift for the hoops fan has to be the new LeBron 12 shoes. The 12 is equipped with Nike’s latest technologies like the individual hexagonal Zoom Air units, Megafuse, and Dynamic Flywire. So many colorways are coming, but the HRT of a Lion goes with Christmas rather well. Wavering on that $200 price tag? Let LeBron motivate you (and the entire city of Cleveland). (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s); if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by LeBron James. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: The Undress At first I was confused about The Undress project on Kickstarter, but their video explained it all. Basically, post workout, active women can “change clothes in public without getting naked.” Easy enough to understand, and this project is well underway with their initial funding request of $22,000 obliterated with over $290,000 worth of pledges. With a pledge of $69, you can order an Undress in a variety of sizes and colors with free shipping too. However, as a holiday gift, the Undress won’t be ready until January 2015. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Zula Fitness DVD I wish I had the radio advertisement for Zula to play back for you since really it says it all. A local style workout DVD featuring all Hawaiian kine music. The perfect gift for your friends on the mainland! Okay, really, that’s all I know about Zula which I’m guessing is a word mashed up from zumba and hula. Somehow sumo great, Konishiki, is involved as well. Anyways, this is one of those gifts that is truly unique this holiday season. Get Zula Fitness Vol. 1 on Amazon. More suggestions from the Pulpconnection Holiday Gift Guide, 2014 edition. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Powerbeats2 Wireless If you’re on Santa’s Nice List, you have to ask for the Powerbeats2 Wireless. Because once you get these and start reminiscing about the past then you’re two-thirds the way to an awesome physique. Check out LeBron James as an example. Pair of the Powerbeats2 Wireless? Check. Remembering his heritage and returning home. Check and double check. NBA-ready body? Judge for yourself. Oh wait, there is a missing element to this, and that’s Take Me to Church by Hozier. I’ll make this easy on you. Order a pair of Powerbeats2 Wireless using my Amazon link, and I’ll gift you a copy of Take Me to Church! So all that’s left between you and an NBA physique are your memories. More suggestions from the Pulpconnection Holiday Gift Guide, 2014 edition. • Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Tivo Mega Sorry, but I’m starting off Pulpconnection’s Holiday Gift Guide, 2014 edition with a product unavailable until 2015. This would be the strange Tivo Mega. Why strange? Who would use this beast? The Mega has 24 TB of RAID5 storage and fits inside of a rack. That 24 TB of storage equates to 4000 hours of HD recordings. 4000 hours!! The price of the Mega hasn’t be released yet but it does include a free Lifetime subscription in case you were wondering.
