I’m tweaking things a little by adding StumbleUpon’s new su.pr service to Pulpconnection. Su.pr is yet another URL shortening service (still under development) but has the appeal of tapping into the popular StumbleUpon “stumbles.”
Su.pr also has its own Wordpress plugin which makes configuration much easier, and su.pr even supports shortening URLs using your own domain. [...]
Read Penelope Trunk’s latest post about how to feel like you have time to read everything. Some great quotes:
Only losers say they don’t have time to read blogs. Because everyone has the same 24 hours in the day.
reading blogs is not high enough on your priority list to read them
Stop talking about information overload. That [...]

Wow, read a great and very pertinent article, “A Practical Guide to Implementing Web 2.0 (aka Social Networking Tools) in Your Organization” which hits very close to home. I’ve been experimenting and pushing the use of social networking tools at work and see lots of what is described in the article. And after attending a [...]
Interesting. I disabled the WordPress plugin, reCAPTCHA, for one day and in that time, get 10 new user registrations on this site. Probably bogus accounts for spamming. Sorry but looks like I’m reactivating the protection of reCAPTCHA.

Things at Pulpconnection continue to change. I’ve been tinkering around with some stuff to see how it works.
I’ve changed my “subscriptions” around and consolidated my main ones in the Connect section in the sidebar.
I installed Google FriendConnect along with a few of its gadgets. I’m currently using the Members gadget, Recommendations, and the Social bar. [...]

Just saw some stats and if accurate, I’m coming up on 3000 pulpy blog posts! WordPress is saying I have 2978 published posts which should include all the imported posts from the original Blogger-powered Pulpconnection blog.
22 more to 3K!

I just read about NetworkedBlogs and am trying out their new widget on Pulpconnection. Not sure how to describe this app/service other than it exposes your blog (and blogs you read) to your Facebook friends. Also, the widget displays your Facebook friends who follow your blog.

Playing around with PostRank which could be a contender going up against FeedBurner. I also installed the PostRank WordPress widget which shows the top ranked posts here according to their metrics.
Not sold yet, but time will tell.

The WordPress theme, Thesis, that I use for Pulpconnection has a new version, going from 1.3 to 1.4. I haven’t upgraded yet, but the new version features “killer recent entries.” Sounds like a winner.
Read more and download Thesis 1.4 here.
