Reyn Spooner on a Roll

I gotta admit that Reyn Spooner has been on a roll with their recent aloha shirt designs. Along with sytles featuring typical Hawaiian motifs, Reyn has essentially been doing collaborations with well known characters. Godzilla was the first to grab my attenion. Then came the recent rush featuring South Park, Ultraman, and then Rudolph during the holidays. Don’t forget about Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Bob Marley mixed in.

But today, Reyn announced yet another must-have in the form of Sponge Bob. The Aloha from Bikini Bottom shirt is great. It only comes in a single color, but the characters complement the base shirt color so well (although I wouldn’t mind a pink-hued shirt inspired by Patrick).

I gotta find the shirt and also a fresh pair of kicks to match!

Rudolph Aloha Shirt to Eras Tour?

Now wearing this Rudolph aloha shirt to a music concert may not totally be the vibe. But I’d be willing to find out how this shirt with classic characters holds up through the eras of Taylor Swift music.

Seasonal Aloha Shirts

Typically, I’m not one to buy (and wear) seasonal aloha shirts. Don’t get me wrong, I think there are some great ones over the years, but the wearability is short lived. I mean a Halloween-themed shirt is good for maybe the single month of October but not before or after. But… I may have to make an exception seeing the latest from Reyn Spooner for the upcoming Christmas season.

Yes, all your favorites are somewhere on the shirt – Clarice, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius, Sam the Snowman, Misfit Toys, Santa and Rudolph. I need to hunt down this shirt and then figure out the accompanying pair of sneakers…

Not even two weeks since I picked up the South Park aloha shirt from Reyn Spooner did they release another banger. This time, it’s small kid time memories with Ultraman. While I was more of a Kamen Rider and Kikaida fan, Ultraman as a design for an aloha shirt? It’s a must have.

But what shoes would I pair with this sagebrush reverse print? In some ways, the chutney colorway of the KITH x New Balance 998 Frank Lloyd Wright shares similar hues of red, greens, and tan.

But since I already have the apricot colorway, I don’t have this chutney variation. Based on color name similiarity alone, there’s the Joe Fresh Goods and New Balance 993 Performance Art.

But this sage color way is more green than blue/teal of the aloha shirt design. The Arctic Blue colorway is a closer match but still not quite right. The search for matching kicks continues…

My most recent aloha shirt and kicks outfit is this South Park design from Reyn Spooner paired with a KITH New Balance Frank Lloyd Wright collab. The New Balance is in the orange/apricot colorway.

Here’s the unfiltered view in bad lighting, followed by an IG filtered version.

I think the orange and green hues of the shoes pair nicely with the South Park crew.

This Is a Banger

So obviously I’ve been sleeping on Reyn Spooner collaboration aloha shirts. First, there was this Godzilla mindblower paired with the Concepts Air Max 1. Now, I slept again and missed the Reyn’s collab with Kona Brewing Company.

While this design may not be totally my style, I like how it copies the design of the box. I’ve since changed my IG settings to notify me when @reynspooner posts anything.

And yes, this $120 shirt has sold out.

Nike x CNCPTS x Reyns x Godzilla

Totally unplanned but totally meant to be – collaboration with Nike, CNCPTS, Reyn Spooner, and Godzilla!

Nike and Concepts Air Max 1 in the “Heavy” colorway paired with the Reyn Spooner Godzilla aloha shirt from the Japan Series. Both limited editions, and both sold out.

While I didn’t plan for this pairing, obviously it was meant to be.
