Be it any social media circle, but Instagram by far is a double-edged sword for resellers. Sure, you know what to keep an eye out for at your local discount stores when you see pics on IG. In that regards, Instagram is your friend, giving you scouting information.

But then Instagram can easily make you feel defeated when you see the hauls and pickups others are finding. Yeah, not you, others like Hustler Hacks, The Hustle Bee, Nachoaveragefinds, and Soupyz11 for example. Seeing the quality and quantity of their finds is simply discouraging.

My Latest Distraction #rossfinds on Instagram

My most recent distraction sucking up my time is checking out the #rossfinds hashtag on Instagram. As its name implies, IG images are of discounted items found at Ross stores all over America. Mostly though, you’ll find pictures of cool kicks that Ross hunters have come across.

It’s kinda interesting to see the variety of shoes or really, the similarity of shoe offerings at different locations. There are more similarities than I would have thought. The best, of course, are those special gems that you come across by pure happenstance. Now I think some of the #rossfinds images are fake, but you can never tell. I’m not sure how you’ll find recently released Air Jordan 11, 72-10, at Ross. But then again, I did find the Air Jordan 4 Legend Blue one morning (true story).

Instagram Best Nine of 2015 How To

On social media circles, you’re bound to see a Best Nine of 2015 picture collage tagged #2015bestnine. Scouring for your nine most liked pictures on Instagram, this web site does it for you. Enter in your (or anyone’s) Instagram username and wait a few minutes to get your best nine. Here’s mine.

There’s the Starbucks Halloween-themed Frappula. Pictures from #HIChina15, especially the Great Wall, were popular. I see a few pictures from the July 4th fireworks show at Kailua Beach, the Iolani Fair, the Holei Sea Arch on the Big Island, and French fries that I can’t place. The biggest surprise is that Star Wars crochet book from Costco. Never would have guessed book would be in my best nine. How’s yours look?

MyFab5 Hawaii’s 25 Most Instagrammed Restaurants of 2014

MyFab5 collated Instagram pics and put together this list of Hawaii’s 25 most Instagrammed restaurants of 2014. Some of these make sense and some are surprising (to me) like Duke’s Waikiki for coming in at number 1. I guess lots of tourists making their mainland friends jealous? Breakfast is a popular Instagramming time with about 11 of the 25 pics. Only four pictures of “desserts” from Duke’s, Mama’s Fish House, Bubbies, and Leonard’s. The only pizza on the list is a yummy, hearty shot from Buca di Beppo, courtesy of @abaggy.

Testing Embedding Instagram Videos

With some work, it is possible to embed Instagram videos outside of the Instagram service.

Download video: MP4 format

Using the Embed.ly method seems easier and offers analytics, but for testing purposes, this is just fine. I think our microwave oven needs to be rebalanced, and that’s just 15 seconds of your life that you ain’t getting back.

How to Integrate Instagram?

I’m looking for a way to integrate my Instagram activity here. There are a few WordPress plugins that update a widget with your Instagram images, but I prefer posting my Instagram image on Pulpconnection rather than displayed in a sidebar widget.

Any ideas?
