This normally happens when you open the rain-covered trunk, and the water runs down the elevated trunk hatch to the rear window picking up speed. This fast moving water then overshoots the water collection “channel” and flows straight to the trunk interior. Hopefully, there were no items to get wet, but now you have a wet trunk interior.

That’s where this Tesmanian trunk mat comes in. With its raised edges and fitted form, any water should be safely contained. Pricing is reasonable (although shipping isn’t but that’s another thing).
