The introduction is when Steve Rogers continually laps Sam Wilson during a morning run, saying “on your left” as he passes by.

Then in Endgame as a beaten Captain America gets ready for one more round with Thanos and his army, it’s Steve who hears “on your left” as spoken by Sam as the revived heroes start portaling in to join Cap for an epic sequence.

Gotta love seeing the old school tech in action and the youth of Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy. I have to guess this 1983 movie was remastered since it looked decent on an HD television. The picture wasn’t pixelated or cropped or anything weird. It was HD quality of course but very passable and watchable.

I remembered the DEFCON level indicator looking cooler instead of a (big) horizontal traffic light signal. The only way to hack, obviously, is shirtless in bed surrounded by paper printouts. And what did David do to the pay phone to get a free call?

The movie theaters in Kailua continue its renovation as Kailua Cinemas. Over the years, these theaters have changed names, most recently known as Water Garden that showed older movies at reduced prices. But the phase has begun with Kailua Cinemas featuring luxury reclining seats.

While the theater is open for business, the remodeling is still underway. Concessions is limited to popcorn and bottled soft drinks. No other food is available, and the fountain drink dispenser isn’t ready yet. The bathrooms are nice, but some walls need finishing. The main thing is the projection and (loud) sound system is working. And oh yes, the very red reclining seats are new. Just don’t touch any of the wires coming out of the walls.

It’s a good thing UPS delivers hand rails.

But hey, good enough. Can’t beat the convenience and $6 movies on Tuesdays.

I’m almost compelled to watch this show since it’s so outrageous. I can only imagine the quotables from this film. Thanks @ryankanno for the tip.

At Walmart, I happened to see this animated LEGO movie, Batman: The Movie – DC Super Heroes Unite. Got some good reviews on Amazon, and I don’t have the video game so the scenes and storyline will be new. Might be a good one to have for the in-car DVD player.

Oh and it comes with a LEGO minifigure of Clark Kent. Why Superman’s alter ego while this is a Batman movie baffles me. But maybe LEGO is banking on the Man of Steel hype?

Nonetheless, the timing of finding this Linsanity remnant is great with the screening of the Linsanity documentary at the Sundance Film Festival. Did you know that Brian Yang who plays Fong on Hawaii Five-0 produced this film? Yep, Fong isn’t just the behind-the-scenes tech wizard for 5-0. In his spare time, he and a film crew followed Jeremy Lin everywhere on his path to the NBA.

Until the Linsanity documentary gets picked up by a distributor, you won’t be watching JLin’s story unfold, so you might as well find yourself a Lin never stops shirt. If there are none at your local TJ Maxx, check out eBay.

The Hunger Games Catching Fire is filming in Hawaii showcasing Katniss Everdeen aka the “girl on fire.” Coincidentally, Alicia Keys has released her latest album called “Girl on Fire.”

Related or not? Not according to Ms. Keys.

At this time, Prime instant videos are only available for streaming and cannot be viewed on a TiVo box.

I’ve rented movies from Amazon in the past, and these movies have worked with my Tivo, just not these (free) Prime videos. Don’t know why, but it is disappointing.

We were screaming and covering our faces … in utter disbelief!

It was soooo exciting.

We cheered… I cried… I loved… It was just the perfect ending.

They fixed everything that was wrong with the book. It was my least favorite book of the series but I think that this movie might just be my favorite of the series.

So what’s your reason for not watching Breaking Dawn Part 2?

Old People Like Twilight Too. Twilight ain’t only for the tweenagers. In fact, on this night, Twihard fans in the theater averaged over 30 years old is my guess. Sure there were a few kids, some in their 20’s, but by and large, viewers were older, much older. Both genders were about equally represented as well.

The Art of the Closeup. I can’t recall how many closeup shots and scenes there were in the movie. It begins with this (which I thought was very effective).

But after a few too many closeups, I tired of this motif. Bella and Edward’s intimate scenes I can understand the use of closeups to show but not show their ravenous desires.

What Was Not Said. The ability to communicate without speaking was used and abused in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Just by touching, the gifted vampires and Renesmee Cullen could convey so much yet not say a word. Telepathy, visions, mind reading – too convenient. Although Alice’s final vision provided closure to one storyline.

Weird Aging. Speaking of Renesmee, the special effects to depict her at different ages was just weird. Enough said.

Finally Sparkly Skin. After four movies, Breaking Dawn Part 2 finally got the vampire sparkly skin just right. Maybe it’s Bella’s frosty complexion that more naturally compliments her vampire derma. Not sparkling, but why is Emmett Cullen so white?

The Abs of Team Jacob. From New Moon through Breaking Dawn Part 1, Taylor Launter’s physique and popping abs were showcased. In Part 2, Team Jacob keeps his clothes on except for that one scene with Bella’s dad, Charlie. Get ready to oogle about 20 minutes into the movie. Besides, the movie isn’t about Jacob’s body but his emotional connection with Bella, now Renesmee. You buying that? I didn’t think so.

The Credits. Okay, if you can resist tearing up during the introductory credits knowing this is the last of the Twilight story, you might actually wonder what the opening credits are showing. Is that blood, is that ice, is that flowers? What is all that imagery – representations of Bella’s transformation? I thought the font change from a serif to sans serif typeface was kinda cool but then again, I dig fonts.

The ending credits were sweet but long. Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years Pt 2 played appropriately since there was so much to cover during the credits. Showing all the characters and actors and actresses was a nice touch I thought. Okay, here is a spoiler for you. There are no bonuses after the final credits. This is the final movie after all.

The Field of Flowers. Ah the field, that field. In bloom during the spring or desolate in winter, that field tugs at the heartstrings of Twilight fans.

A Fragmented Sentence. While I found the movie overall entertaining, I kept thinking it felt like a fragmented sentence. There were things, people, and stuff yet the things, people, and stuff never really meshed for me. Yeah, it’s the second of a two-parter so just keep that in mind when you go see it. Just believe and roll with it.

It’s About Family. Forget about Team Edward or Team Jacob (and even Team Alice). This movie is all about the coven family. Humans, hybrids, immortals, shape shifters – the family bond overcomes all and holds everyone together. Ohana!

Get PSYCHE-d! That’s all I can safely say about a fantastic fight scene! Heads will roll!! How else do you kill vampires?

From its midnight premiere, Breaking Dawn Part 1 pulled in $30M. This, however, did not eclipse the record set by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 with $43M. Still though, expect solid ticket sales for this weekend and over the upcoming Thanksgiving break as fans flock to see Team Edward, Team Jacob, Team Bella, and even Team Alice.
