A great three-season romantic comedy about the lives of Dylan, Evie, and Luke, oh and chlamydia. This show about love is simply great and the episodes just go by too easily. One season done then two and finally the third is binged.

You gotta watch then hope for a fourth season.

I do have an external receiver connected to a sound bar and speakers. The Apple TV is connected to the TV via HDMI, and I use the optical out of the TV to feed the receiver. All this time, this setup has worked out. As an interim solution, I changed the sound settings of the Apple TV to stereo. It’s good enough for now, but I have a feeling more changes are coming when and if my AV setup is complete. My current (non-HDMI) Dolby surround receiver won’t be able to handle the protected signals so will eventually need replacing.

But I have read up on HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) to see if this will fix things.

• A fast Internet connection to stream the additional Atmos data

Hmmm, I don’t think I have all of these…

At little over 20 minutes per episode, watching Kasumi lead his retired life while having interludes with a feudal samurai is delicious entertainment.

This Netflix series came highly recommended by @gquiks487, and @locke02000 said it was the only series he seriously considered binge watching in one sitting. So with three days of canceled plans, we watched all eight episodes of Stranger Things. Averaging about one hour per episode, the show isn’t what I imagined with supernatural occurances in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. Yeah, I liked all the kids, but Dustin was my favorite with his John Riggins curls and his unique cleidocranial dysplasia. If I could only place that red, white, and blue hat of his… kinda looks Montreal Expo-ish or old school Chicago White Sox of the MLB.

Other than the kids, I thought Winona Ryder did an excellent crazed and desparate mother. The Hawkins Chief of Police, Hop, was my favorite adult character with more skills than he lets on.

Of course, the best, best, best part of the show is its retro setting in 1983. The paramount encapsulation of that is the opening title sequence with its old school animation and graphics and that theme song. I’m simply transfixed by it.

I won’t go into summarizing the storyline since it’s been done many times already. Just go watch it and enjoy the ride. In the meantime, take a listen to the theme song and also see the titles for Season 2.

At about $8 a month, it’s not a big deal to try out the Prime service for two months. I’m interested in seeing the performance of their streaming video service. Looks like there are some good movies available while my Netflix DVD queue only has old movies and television series, so canceling Netflix isn’t a huge loss.

I still have to read up on the Kindle book rental service. Does it work with Kindle apps on iPhones and iPads? I don’t have an actual Kindle device (nor will I get one).

So bottomline, I’m banking on taking advantage of the free (and faster) shipping for two months to make the subscription cost worthwhile.

On hold goes Netflix for the opportunity to watch the coming wars of Season 2.

Sorry Netflix (DVD) subscribers, but the Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD isn’t ready to go back in the mail. Waiting for a Valentine’s Day showing.
