I’m not a paddle reviewer, but yet here I am… again. This time with the Enhance Turbo MPP in the widebody shape. I’ve been main-ing the elongated version for some time, liking its pop, power, and overall easy performance. Majority of my paddles have been elongated, so I wanted to try something different.

Although both from Enhance and both MPP foam, the elongated and widebody sound completely different. The widebody hits with a lower bassy tone compared to the higher pitch of the elongated. The overall feel of the hits are similar, but the widebody doesn’t pack as much of a punch. The ball doesn’t seem to launch off the face like the elongated.

What I do like about the widebody is the weight distribution of this shape. While I’m still learning how to flick, the motion had always felt choppy when moving the paddle head from down to the finished flick position. But with the widebody, the motion feels more natural and smooth. I think practicing flicks with the widebody will develop that shot’s muscle memory faster. Then I can graduate that flick motion to an elongated paddle.

As a widebody, the paddle is shorter, and I mis-hit or even totally missed shots off to the side, so I have to get used to that shorter reach. But overall, I enjoyed the first play impression. It’s a Turbo MPP but also a different Turbo MPP.
