Missed out on the surprise release of the Jordan P-Rods from the Nike SB line of shoes. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, this shoe sold out quick even at the cost of $200. Niketalk has a discussion going. The June 2005 (Issue 8) copy of Sole Collector has a pic on page 73 (the Lebron cover).
Never paid $200 for a pair of kicks (yet). Closest was my Pippen’s and Jordan XVIII.
AJAX (asynchronous Javascript and XML) is making web-based applications very, very interesting. Google Maps is a great example of things to come. Wired.com has a short article about AJAX creating a revolution on the Web.

Actually shopped at Neiman Marcus in Ala Moana and picked up a Together Tunes toy for Merynn. It’s a big cube that plays music every time you turn it to a different side. Give it a smack and more music plays.
Simple but fun!
Five little monkeys jumping on the bed,
One fell off and bumped his head,
Momma called the doctor and the doctor said,
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Seems like the hit FX show, Nip/Tuck, has been off the air for some time now. Oh wait, the web site says season 3 starts in September. What disturbing ideas will they include this year?
Trying out a new shampoo, Shampure, from the Aveda product line. Honestly, it’s kinda stinky, but you get used to the scent derived from a “calming mix of 25 pure flower and plant essences.” It does clean my hair very well though.
Of course, I bought the shampoo from none other than Suite Bliss.
This essay titled What Business Can Learn from Open Source has some great tidbits of wisdom in it. In short, the author concludes:
So these, I think, are the three big lessons open source and blogging have to teach business: (1) that people work harder on stuff they like, (2) that the standard office environment is very unproductive, and (3) that bottom-up often works better than top-down.
Cable connection’s been fixed so we’re back on-line, supposedly faster than ever. Don’t know about that, but the TV is a lot clearer.
Rate your broadband speed using Oceanic’s broadband speedometer.
My speeds:
It’ll be another day before the cable guys can come out to check on our cable connection. I can live with a fuzzy picture on TV but no broadband Internet access – that’s a killer. Dialup at 56K is okay for some stuff, but I sure miss that speed. How am I supposed to download my free iTunes featured this week?
Almost forgot to mention that the second season of Battlestar Galactica has started. A great series, very different from the original Battlestar. I love their mixture of old school and high tech. They can travel faster than the speed of light using their FTL (Faster Than Light) drives but still use phones with cords for communications. Great!
It’s on Fridays at 7:00 on the Sci-Fi channel (Ch 37 for Oceanic customers).
They’re also one of the first shows to offer podcasts commentary for each show. No frackin’ way!

Pictures of Club 939 are coming up. Darn cable connection gave out and got no high speed access to the Net.
Update: Pictures are now available.
