Losing It
Noticed I’ve been losing it over the past few weeks. Forgetting all kinds of stuff, reading emails but forgetting to act on them. Letting things slip through the cracks.
Scary.

Just where does the time go? I haven’t posted in a few days! That used to be unheard of, trying to post 2-3 times a day. That ratio has long since been busted, and I can see a direct correlation with the drop in number of visitors.
Still though Pulpconnection just passed the 90,000 visitor mark, and we’re headed to 100,000! There’s got to be a contest giveaway in there somewhere, but what?!
And not that this blog needs it, but I also signed up with another advertiser/affiliate program. Since I like to pimp out my passions and addictions, I applied to be an affiliate for Tivo. I doubt I’d get any Tivo sales from my visitors (hint, hint Tabasco Man), but you never know when the Tivo can come in handy. Like when you need to record the 10th Annual Lantern Floating in Hawaii then make DVDs from this recording.
Just filled up gas in our two vehicles, and the total cost was about $136 ($73 and $63). Yikes!
No Kobe Hyperdunks for me. Give me them $10 Big Bens!

Just upgraded my iMac with the latest Mac OS X 10.5.3 update. Downloaded and ran the 500+ MB Combo Updater instead of using Software Update since I hear the Combo Updates usually have fewer install issues. Right now, I don’t need more issues with my just repaired iMac.
Don’t forget to Repair Disk Permissions with Disk Utility after installing the update.

Has the next generation iPhone hit the shores of America? Check out this article touting the delivery of 188 ocean containers of “electric computers.”
Very suspicious.

I’m not a fan, but read that this season of American Idol is dull and boring. The reason for this? The contestants are simply too good, losing the show’s angle of giving a chance to the underdog amateur. Thinking about this a bit, maybe that’s why reality television shows, Top Chef and Dancing with the Stars, aren’t as entertaining as years past. The quality and professionalism of the contestants are simply ruining the shows.
I’ve complained that Top Chef Chicago just doesn’t have it this year. There’s a lot of swearing and some heated discussions, but nothing engaging, other than the judge’s quips and cleavage. This season’s chefs are supposedly the best ever. So is their professionalism the problem?
As Dancing with the Stars heads to its Finals, no one would have doubted the matchup of Kristi Yamaguchi and Jason Taylor. The inclusion of Cristian de la Fuente and two-time DWTS champ, Cheryl Burke, is not that surprising as the third Finals pair. But, with Kristi and Jason so far above the rest of the competitors, each show was predictable. First place, Kristi. Coming in a close second, Jason.
Season 6 of DWTS might have the best talent thus far which again goes back to making boring reality television. Crisitain’s injured bicep and his recent success is now causing some excitement, but the show was much more entertaining with the antics of Adam Carolla and even Steve Guttenberg’s parting Mango.
To succeed with the fans, do these reality shows have to “dumb down” the competition? Is having competitors that are too good, not good for the ratings? I just don’t know.
Is professionalism ruining reality TV?

Who knew seeing your child eat ice cream and drink Jamba Juice for breakfast would be a welcomed sight? The effects of HFMD are rough.
Even though there’s no medical cure for HFMD, here’s our home remedy which is making things more bearable – Tivo loaded up with all kinds of cartoons and Jamba Juice.
No better pain relief than vegetating in front of the television, and while eating solids is too tough, non-citrus Jamba Juice is just right.
That would be Hand Foot Mouth Disease. HFMD wiped out our plans for a joining a Mother’s Day brunch at Tsukiji’s. Ah, the joys of parenthood!
Happy Mother’s Day!

Maybe it’s part of the promotion strategy, or maybe PepsiStuff is getting desperate, or maybe people are thinking PepsiStuff is a rip. Whatever the reason, the program is giving away 5 free Pepsi points at PepsiStuff.com. All you have to do is enter an email address and verify the letters you see on the screen. Then you’re immediately given a code valid for 5 points.
Five points is good for one MP3 download from Amazon. And I think you can sign up using various email addresses but from different computers. It looks like the system tracks if your computer participated in this promotion.
