Possible iPhone Discount?
This would be juicy. An AT&T discount of $200 on the iPhone?

Can’t tell which one grosses me out more. Dwyane Wade and Star Jones or Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon?
In either case, ewwwww.
Hawaii Starbucks patrons, you are now safer. The new splash sticks have arrived in Hawaii to prevent any mishaps drinking your hot Pikes Place roast (or other favorite SBUX beverage).
I saw these little green plugs at a nearby Starbucks and wondered what they were (sorry no picture, I need an iPhone). The idea is simple. To prevent accidental spilling of hot coffee, you insert these sticks in the lid to plug up the opening. Remove when you want to drink. A bolt of genius to whoever thought of this. :S
And for Coco Bean an environment question. If these splash sticks are made of recycled materials, is this a good use? Or do these sticks make more trash?
Maybe I missed this, but it looks like YouTube videos have a slightly different layout. There’s a more organized and full featured tabbed area right under the video. And some of the major tab area (Share, Favorite, Playlist, Flag) have subtabs.
I like the new change!

So Starbucks venti big secret is another coffee offering. Its Pikes Place roast or “everyday” brew will be made and prepared the old fashion way. Freshly roasted, freshly ground, minimal sitting around to lose its “subtle, rich flavors of cocoa and toasted nuts.”
For Hawaii coffee drinkers, Starbucks is giving away samples of everyday from 6am to 6:30am on Tuesday, April 8. Just don’t mind the looping sound track of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up playing in the background.
I read about this a little ways back but kept forgetting to check it out. Starbucks is asking the community for ideas on how to improve. Everything is fair game. You can propose ideas about their drinks, food, gift card services, the store atmosphere, and more.
All you got to do is visit mystarbucksidea.com and make your suggestion. Some common and good ideas are already under review, I guess for possible implementation. Maybe that’s what Starbucks is announcing as its big secret, all the selected ideas and their originators?
Oh yeah, tapping into the social and user-based content that’s all the rage nowadays, visitors can vote on proposed ideas they like and also make comments. Free drink on your birthday? I’ll vote for that.
There’s also an associated blog called Ideas in Action, but strangely, it doesn’t behave like a blog. No RSS feed, no permalink to link directly to posts, no comments. Oh well, I still like the idea that a big company is willing to ask anyone for help and ways to improve.
Didn’t know about the Net phenomenon called RickRolling where juicy links mislead users to a YouTube video of Rick Astley singing Never Gonna Give You Up.
If you fall for one of these links then you’ve been RickRolled. Wonder if Starbucks’ mysterious Big Secret is some grand form of a RickRoll?
What ain’t a RickRoll is UCLA freshman Kevin Love’s mad shots from downtown during practice.
Forgot that today is April 1, April Fool’s Day. Pretty much fell for Google’s “new” offering, Google Weblogs, a new variant of blogs.
Watch out for any other pranks today!
On the 25th anniversary of the release of the epic Thriller, the music of Michael Jackson is seeing a small resurgence. I keep hearing classic King of Pop songs everywhere. Television commercials play cuts from Thriller in the background, and Rihanna’s grinding Don’t Stop the Music is overlayed on MJ’s Wanna Be Startin’ Something.
And have you listened to the Thriller collaborations with current artists? The Thriller 25th Anniversary Deluxe edition features artists like will.i.am, Akon, Fergie, and Kanye West. I like the Billie Jean 2008 remix with Kanye. It mostly preserves the purity of the original Billie Jean with Kanye’s heavy bass beats bumping the background.
If you don’t already have a collection of Jackson’s hits, be sure to check out the 25th Anniversary edition of Thriller. All good stuff!
