Night Traffic to Waimanalo
Due to today’s carjacking and shooting and resulting road closures, people are going through Waimanalo to get to Hawaii Kai. At 7:45pm, the traffic was still nasty.

KITV.com reports on several arrests stemming from theft from the Navy Exchange. Most thefts were of electronics and small, pilfer-able items. But for one defendant, it sounded like she was getting ready for a night out:
Then there’s defendant Kirby R. Sells, who is charged with stealing two tank tops, makeup, two pairs of panties, a bra and whitening strips from the store on Aug. 4.
Umm, yeah.
This bungled jewelry heist at Zales in Waikele is still in the news. Here’s the video from the security camera.
Gave the unusually named Yogur Story a try this weekend, and it is an oasis of “ohs,” from its location, to its decor, to the beauty of it patrons, to the (oh no) warm food.
Where is Yogur Story? Next to the very green Sorabol on Keeaumoku, down the way from 939. Oh, okay, got it. Oh, that place is huge!
Oh wait, this place serves more than yogurt and dessert right?
Oh nice!
Oh yay, starting off with a peppermint latte.
Oh hey, is that @mirthlab downstairs where all the beautiful people sit? And was that Malika Dudley at another table. Oh wow!
What else can you say but OH! in the bathroom.
Oh, the food sounds so good on the menu and looks oh so good, but… oh no, the food is warm.
Despite the one zing of warm food, you need to give Yogur Story a try. It really isn’t what I expected. On Yelp, Yogur Story has an average of 3.5 stars, and I would have to agree. Would have been 4 to 4.5 stars if the food were hot. Still though amazing design elements, modern with playful twists.
Next time, I’ll have to try the yogurt.
Wanted to get a head start on the day and went to Borders early since they open at 9am. Not so fast as this pictorial explains…
And yes, I was there to look for Guy Kawasaki’s Enchantment, but the discrepancy in hours was not so enchanting. Yes, yes, I should have followed the directions stating, “Contact the store for the most up to date hours.” 🙁
While stuck in (rare) traffic this morning on the H3, I took some pics and listened to some tunes then used Storify.com to compile this.
Back in the day, local music group Kalapana sang “For You, I’d Chase a Rainbow.” On Thursday, March 31, 2011 for you, The Weather Channel and photographer Peter Lik will chase a lava flow on the Big Island. The Weather Channel is premiering a new series called From the Edge with Peter Lik that captures the beauty of America in pictures.
Peter Lik is an international photographer doing what he can to take the perfect shots of the wonders of the world. His first challenge is photographing the fiery Madam Pele herself.
But patience, perseverance, and a little bit of craziness pays off with gorgeous pictures like this.
After the adventures in Hawaii, follow along with Peter, get some of his photography tips and take in the wonders of America from the edge.
So from two leading book stores, tell me which is more enchanting with Enchantment?
This first picture is from Borders. While I love Borders in Hawaii, the chain has hit a rough spell and is closing even more Hawaii stores including the first Borders location in Waikele. Besides unexplainable restroom issues, check out this anomaly. I’m holding a copy of Enchantment found in Borders, and I’m also looking up the book using the in-store computer system. See where it says “Not in store”? I don’t get it since I’m holding a copy of the book found in the store.

This picture is from Barnes & Noble. Lots of copies for those seeking Enchantment.

If you’re nearby an Islands Restaurant, try out their new Rosarito Burger. It’s packed with the right amount of spicy heat that doesn’t overwhelm the burger. But watch out, it’s oozy goodness.
At the start of March, I had the fortune of meeting up with NEENZ who introduced me to Enchante. Who’s Enchante? That’s the hand crafted origami butterfly you see on Guy Kawasaki’s new book Enchanted.
To help promote Guy’s new book, NEENZ and Enchante were going around the island taking pictures of Enchante’s visits. Enchante was even equipped with a GPS to track her whereabouts. From what I heard Enchante even made it to SXSW to enchant even more.
Anyways, here’s me (well, at least my Pele Lava Dunks) with Enchante and a closer up view of the handiwork.
Even with a long list of orders at In4mation, it took only a few days for our Aloha for Japan shirts to come in.
