Islands’ Rosarito Burger
If you’re nearby an Islands Restaurant, try out their new Rosarito Burger. It’s packed with the right amount of spicy heat that doesn’t overwhelm the burger. But watch out, it’s oozy goodness.

At the start of March, I had the fortune of meeting up with NEENZ who introduced me to Enchante. Who’s Enchante? That’s the hand crafted origami butterfly you see on Guy Kawasaki’s new book Enchanted.
To help promote Guy’s new book, NEENZ and Enchante were going around the island taking pictures of Enchante’s visits. Enchante was even equipped with a GPS to track her whereabouts. From what I heard Enchante even made it to SXSW to enchant even more.
Anyways, here’s me (well, at least my Pele Lava Dunks) with Enchante and a closer up view of the handiwork.
Even with a long list of orders at In4mation, it took only a few days for our Aloha for Japan shirts to come in.
Hope you made it to Jaden’s party alright. You did “mak a right,” right?
I see it now, the next great mobile app will be a spell checker. Using Augmented Reality (AR) technologies, you’ll be able to use your camera phone to look at any text. Then you’ll see the augmented display with the infamous Microsoft red squiggly line under misspelled words. It’d mak a fortune right?
Good to see Hawaii born actor Jason Momoa still in the game. Starting with Baywatch Hawaii, Jason’s been in North Shore, Stargate Atlantis, and soon enough, he’ll be the new embodiment of Conan the Barbarian.
Last weekend, right after Hawaii’s tsunami scare, I had the luck of touring the Navy aircraft carrier, the USS Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln was on its way back to San Diego then Washington for servicing. While docked in Hawaii, the Lincoln hosted many tours, and I latched onto one for Kamehameha students. I had always wanted to see the vastness of a carrier and its flight deck after watching Top Gun.
What can I say but the carrier is big!
But really, not that big for all that’s packed inside and on the deck. It’s amazing how much stuff is squeezed into every available space to include aircraft and helicopters.
All over the ship, there are images of its namesake, Abe Lincoln. Even the coffee stand is called Jittery Abes.
Our Naval tour guides were great, taking the diverse visitors to various parts of the ship.
They talked about life on-board a ship, the basics of a ship’s operations, the training they do, and the various specialties of the crew. We even got to talk to pilots about the different aircraft and being catapulted for takeoff.
All in all, this was another great tour by the Navy to educate civilians about the Navy, its mission, and the dedication of its sailors. Thanks to Kamehameha Schools, Navy Region Hawaii, Pacific Fleet, and Pacific Command for this opportunity.
Here are a lot more pictures from the tour.
On a side note, since the ship was on stand down, most of the crew were on liberty status, and I must say that Abe Lincoln must be a fan of Air Jordans. This long-time kicks collector couldn’t believe how many Air Jordans and Jordan Brand sneakers I saw around. And not just Jordans you find in shoe stores, but uncommon colorways as well like these orange AJ 13.
Have you noticed more and more sign wavers out there? Now that the elections are over, you don’t expect to see people along sides of streets waving signs, but they’re there. Is this the next job market for Hawaii?
Sorry, I don’t have pictures to corroborate this, but you know you have your own validating visuals. Have you seen Pizza Hut employees with signs telling you where to get dinner? It’s almost tax time, and I know you’ve stared at those faux Statue of Liberties telling you to file with Liberty Tax. And maybe it’s Spring Break and the kids are out of school, but why are there so many young’ens telling me to eat at Pandas if I’m hungry?
These guys must be on to something!
If the University of Hawaii Men’s basketball team wins their second round CIT game against formidable University of San Francisco on Saturday, then Hawaii’s mean green Adidas should be nicknamed the “Supermoons.”
As in the Supermoon that’s happening on Saturday night as the Bows play the Dons. Who’s to say what effects the Supermoon will have?

Driving along Kamehameha Highway in Aiea and Pearl City, I witnessed the awesome decorative display lining the chain link fence that runs the entire median of the road.
The pattern changes every few hundred feet, and I’m sure this does help reduce the headlights of opposing vehicles. But all I can say is, “Wow.” I’m not sure if that’s a Wow! or a Wow?!?
It’s been some time since Costco changed up its selection of muffins. For awhile I thought those days were done, but look, there are new flavors! Vanilla Chocolate and French Toast (not pictured).
Probably a limited time thing so best to get your muffin action on soon.
Did dim sum on Sunday at Jade Dynasty in Ala Moana. Just a few of the pics.
More pics and a first time review of Jade Dynasty is over here and our Yelp review.
