Twilight Blog Theme
The vampire lust of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga continues to grow. The series has inspired its own WordPress theme based on the artwork of the book covers.

Barnes and Noble for the Local Authors
I’m still getting my head around the Twilight universe created by Stephenie Meyer (did you know a movie is coming out?), and Borders is really pushing Meyer’s work. Witness these Borders displays.

As a juxtaposition, look what Barnes and Noble is featuring at one of their locations. It’s Lottery by local Hawaii author, Patricia Wood.

Stephenie Meyer is Hot in Hawaii
Flipping through the Sunday Honolulu Advertiser I glanced at the Hawaii Best Sellers book list and something caught my eye. Here’s the list from August 17, 2008:
- “Breaking Dawn” by Stephenie Meyer
- “Twilight” by Stephenie Meyer
- “Eclipse” by Stephenie Meyer
- “Acheron” by Sherrilyn Kenyon
- “New Moon” by Stephenie Meyer
- “Artemis Fowl 6: The Time Paradox” by Eoin Colfer
- “Lottery” by Patricia Wood
- “In The Woods” by Tana French
- “When You Are Engulfed in Flames” by David Sedaris
- “Last Summer (of You and Me)” by Ann Brashares
The numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5 spots are all owned by Stephenie Meyer! Was this an island fluke? Nope, Amazon’s top selling books goes like this:
#1 Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga, Book 4)
#4 Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)
#6 Eclipse (The Twilight Saga, Book 3)
So what are these stories dominating the sales charts? They are books in the Young Adult category that talk about the interaction of a 17-year old girl, Bella, and a high school senior, Edward Cullen, who happens to be a vampire. Sounds familiar Buffy and Angel fans? No matter! There must be something right about these books since the sales don’t lie.
I just might have to read one of these… Whoa, 700+ pages?!
