Got a New Cell Phone, Motorola V540

After giving up on my piece of junk MPx cell phone, I got a Motorola v540 replacement. The specs are decent, and this phone is supposed to be the same as the v551 without the camera. Bluetooth, MP3 ringtone, EDGE data network capable, and speaker phone. Still getting used to the menus and interface.

Sadly though, this newly released phone is not supported by Mac OS X iSync. I can pair the phone to my computer via Bluetooth, but iSync would not copy over my contacts. But wait, since this phone is pretty much identical to the iSync-supported v551, there’s a hack to make the v540 work like a v551. After fumbling around a bit, I got this to work, and iSync transfered all my contacts to the phone.

Now to figure out how to transfer pictures and music…

So far so good. Got to get used to this one. Most things are better. A few things are actually worse. Go figure.
