New Intel-based Macs Can Run Windows [Update]

That’s right. According to Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, the new Intel-based Macs can run Microsoft Windows. Sounds like you have to tinker around a bit, but it’s not impossible.

The switch could technically and theoretically allow a person to load Windows onto a Mac computer, although the user would require some technical expertise to pull it off. That would allow a person to run both Microsoft and Apple’s operating systems on the same Apple machine.

Feels like a Trojan Horse if you ask me. Another reason why someone can buy the Mac hardware and gradually get the Mac vibe. Same with the iPod. I know of too many Mac converts that owned an iPod first then got Macs.

Whatever the case may be, but Apple can sell a lot of hardware and start sticking it to Dell. Would you rather have the beauty of a MacBook Pro or a wanna-be Inspiron?

Update: Okay, so Windows XP in its current form will not boot on a MacBook. Vista is supposed to. The MacBook uses the next generation of BIOS called EFI. XP don’t do EFI but Vista does.
