Nike Change in Leadership

The Tabasco Man passed along this article from Forbes magazine about Nike replacing its recently appointed CEO, Bill Perez. Perez was hand picked by Chairman Phil Knight and was on the job for only one year. He resigned due to disagreeing views of Nike’s long-term growth.

I don’t remember where I read about Perez, but from what I recall, Knight thought he made the right choice (at the time) due to Perez’s experience with S.C. Johnson & Son, a worldwide company. Knight thought Perez could use that experience to help Nike grow globally and to also handle Nike’s other subsidiaries (Converse and Cole Haan).

Here is Nike’s press release naming Mark Parker as the new CEO.
