I would have to say that it’s definitely the case. Not to say that it’s the majority but it’s probably a good percentage. I bet even the people that don’t act cocky probably thinks that way. Maybe cocky sometimes is too strong of a word. Maybe it’s just “school spirit and personal pride” Wait that’s OIA! Go public school!

I went to a public school. The level of cockiness depends on which particular private school the person went to. A lot of girls from Punahou have a bit of an attitude. The Iolani kids seem more humble and close to smart public school kids in behavior.

I think that private schools arent cockier, they just have a lot more pride. And they should, theyre spending 837489712938472938712 more dollars on their education than public school students. It doesnt make them any better or any worse, so that means, “WE ALL PRODUCTS OF ALOHA” braaaaaaaaaah.

Wow, is that how much private school tuition costs now, $837,489,712,938,472,938,712?

    I need a second job. 🙁

Generally private school alum are more cocky about thier school and stuff, especially the females. I guess you could say it’s school pride, etc. Funny thing is I (and I know there’s others like me) who, if we were still in Hawaii, and could afford it, would send our kids to private school rather than public.

Yes, I think private schoolers are perceived to be cockier, but I think it is that we are more reserved and gracious in our manners. Maybe we’re just up tight and too buttoned up.

“up tight and too buttoned up?” – that’s pretty funny. Don’t you know about the controlling ownership of Club 939, Hawaii’s Hottest Gentlemen’s Club? 😉

uptight and buttoned up? Man I guess it’s the time frame 80’s or something…. I know for sure that some of my fellow private school classmates were stoned out of their minds and drunk from the wine that was left out from morning mass. But of course you did not here it from me.

i think private school kids in hawaii could get to be pretty cocky.

I went to public school but it was Mililani High which was a bunch of cocky public schoolers – so I think it goes both ways.
