If you’re talking about your own child, HUGE HUGS to you and yours.

But, for the sake of exercising my brain this morning:

    $314.51 * 20% = $62.91 per month.

    BONUS: $314.51 / 13 lbs. = $24.19 per lb.

    $24.19 * 160 lbs. = $3,870.40 * 20% = $7,740

But in order to more accurate on the bonus, I’m sure there’s some formula to determine how much Synagis is needed per pound or …

Really, I just wanted to send you a HUGE HUG!

    Always,

the family portion is $314.51, so the overall cost is $314.51 divided by 20%, or $1,572.55. the hospital is picking up 80% of the cost, or $1258.04 and the family picks up the remaining 20% co-pay, or $314.51. sucks, but at least u have insurance- lots of peeps don’t…

NEENZ, thanks for the words of encouragement. I think -s got you on this word problem (but then again clearly making this math word problem early in the morning is destined for confusion). ๐Ÿ˜‰

The family pays the remaining 20% which equates to 314.51 so the original cost of the shot is around $1500.

-s, still got some math skills after all those years!

The remaining cost of the shot is okay but I’m just tripping at the cost of this thing. All the docs said the shot was expensive so I was thinking the realm of hundreds of dollars, not thousands.

And imagine, if the dosage per pound relationship were linear then a 130-lb person would need 10x as much Synagis, and perhaps a 10X cost! $15,725!!
