Caught quite a few performances from today’s Live Earth worldwide concert. Something like 150 artists performing, 7 continents, 24 hours of music. Most impressive!
I wonder if all the music from Live Earth will be offered as a massive collection? Live Earth partnered with MSN which has videos and pictures available (and of course, plugs for the Zune). If all the music was offered, I wonder how much would it cost?

Yes, recycling and saving the environment is a good thing, but… it’s not a good thing for carpet padding. After re-carpeting parts of our home, we started to feel bumps under the carpet. The carpet guys came back and pulled up the carpet to check out the rebond padding.
Rebond padding is made up of chunks of recycled foam material that’s bonded together into a big sheet. Unfortunately, because of its composition, some of the recycled chunks are very hard and dense compared to the rest of the chunks. These are the rock-like bumps I was feeling under the carpet. Maybe these chunks were recycled Nike shoes or something, I don’t know, but they made the carpet a disaster.
So we’re getting the rebond padding replaced with a rubber type pad. Beware the rebond!
Learned about WDS (Wireless Distribution System) today while doing some temporary cable outlet changes at home. With WDS, you can use wireless basestations to extend wireless and wired networks.
Luckily I got an Apple AirPort Extreme and an AirPort Express that support WDS. Since the cable modem was moved to another room, our desktop Macs in a different room no longer had Internet access. But with WDS, the AirPort Express converts all wired network activity to wireless which then goes to the AirPort Extreme connected to the cable modem and out to the Internet.

It took a little while longer than I thought, but Hawaii continues its fad-ish ways by joining in the iPhone frenzy and making the iPhone a sellout throughout the state.
Yep, if you go to one of the two (three in the future) Apple Stores in Hawaii, you can’t go home with an iPhone. I think the local AT&T stores are sold out as well since they received less phones than Apple’s retail stores.
I don’t know if the non-availability of the iPhone merely increases its hype and desirability?
Apple loves the Hawaii tourist industry, or they know that tourists like to spend money.
“Hey, what’d you do on your Hawaiian vacation?”
“I picked up this cool new iPhone for $500 bucks!”
Apple is planning on opening up a third Apple Store in Hawaii in the renovating Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. So after stuffing your face at the Cheesecake Factory, you can check out some Apple goodness.
