Support for George Ligman
According to the Star Advertiser, newspaper hawker, George Ligman, is doing better after being hit by a vehicle. In his absence, his chair has been adorned with signs of support from the community.
Additionally, financial donations for George’s medical costs are being accepted at all branches of American Savings Bank and First Hawaiian Bank.
Recreating Now 80s Hits Deluxe Edition
Now has another compilation, gathering up 80 classics from the 80s. But then I’m wondering if I can recreate this collection from my own music library and merely make a playlist?
But wow, what a collection! What I’m grooving to right now.
- Some Like It Hot – Power Station
- Relax – Frankie Goes to Hollywood
- Kyrie – Mr. Mister
- She’s Like the Wind – Patrick Swayze
The Sizzle of the SodaStream
I admit that I chuckled the first time I saw a SodaStream in action. It makes funny noises and “farts” when it’s done.
But now, this appliance is quickly becoming the fashionable kitchen must-have. Read about SodaStream’s success in Fast Company then head on over to Williams-Sonoma or Amazon to order your fizz maker.
Done with Poke the Box
Finished reading, okay listening to, Seth Godin’s latest, Poke the Box. I prefer listening to Seth’s books as opposed to reading them. While I enjoy his writings, hearing Seth narrate his words with his inflections and idiosyncrasies is more compelling to me.
Poke the Box is all over the place, but the simple message is to start. Nothing will get done if you don’t start, but not only start, but finish aka “ship the product.” Somewhere in this book you’re bound to recognize a situation you’ve been in or are in and see how it all relates. I’m definitely going to replay this audiobook and let the words soak in.
Pictures from the Snow Factory
Almost forgot about these pictures from the Snow Factory. Not quite froyo, not quite shave ice, their concocted blend has accurate flavors. Try the peanut butter, and you’ll agree.
Got Your Juicies?
That white iPod cable has served you well over the years, but how about something just a bit more fun? Check out the colorful Juicies cables!
Juicies is a Hawaii-based startup and is leveraging Kickstarter.com to generate financial backing. For the first 2000 pledgers, you can name your price for one of these colorful cables or you can pledge other fixed amounts. The project needs to raise $5000 by May 23 in order for pledgers to get their Juicies. So what are you waiting for? Your Juicies await!
Remebering the Series Finale of Angel
Just remembering the final episode of Angel where the team fought the fight worthy fighting and went up against dragons.
DWTS Best of Week 5
Week 5 of Dancing with the Stars paired All American tunes to ballroom and Latin dances. Um yeah, weird. But for some, it worked like Hines Ward and Chelsea Kane. With the Houghs, Derek and Julianne, not dancing, Mark Ballas probably has the best choreography in Season 12.
George Ligman’s Beat
Saddening news to hear about a truck hitting long-time newspaper vendor, George Ligman. Never knew his name until this accident, but George has been out there everyday, all day selling the Advertiser for years.
As I drove by his usual spot, there was his empty chair and repair crews were fixing damage caused by the vehicle.
What’s This “420” Meme?
Been seeing references about “420” today (4-20-2011). Didn’t really pay attention but did do a quick look on Urban Dictionary.
