Had never noticed that Apple’s iWeb 09 has the ability to post updates to Facebook. Anytime you publish on iWeb, your (configured) Facebook account is supposed to notify your FB friends of these updates.
But does this feature actually work?
After recent extended use of my Hackintosh netbook, here are more observations.
Battery life is phenomenal! Even with constant writes to the hard drive and wifi connectivity, battery performance has been great. I charge the Dell Mini 10v out of convenience, not from necessity.
Portability. Yes, the netbook form factor really entices you to use this computer just about anywhere. Small, light, and self contained, I’ve moved my 10v more often than my MacBook Pro.
The screen is too small. So Apple’s iApps want a minimal screen size to work optimally, and I understand why. Even at 1024×600 pixels, the netbook screen is much, much too small. iLife barely works due to the screen real estate, but everything else also suffers from a small display. The overall experience of web surfing, creating blog content, and viewing pictures is just not enjoyable on a 10-in screen.
Performance is pokey. But I already knew that going in and just have to be patient. Even short video clips are painfully slow to edit.
I do see how Apple’s iPad is definitely a threat to the netbook market. Although limited in the sense that an iPad is not a full desktop machine, really, neither is a netbook. Sure a netbook looks like a typical computer, but there are shortcomings in expectations. With a tablet-shaped iPad, you know things will be different so your expectations are different.
I’ll reserve final judgment on netbooks since I haven’t had the opportunity to use an iPad for a prolonged time. But I’d say I’m not convinced netbooks are the way to go.
Read Stephenie Meyer’s new novella, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, now available online. Unfortunately, you have to read this story on your computer. There’s no download or ereader support, and Adobe Flash required.

What would a sideblog in search of epic look like? Throwing around some ideas…
Each month Amazon’s MP3 Music Store features 100 albums for $5 each. You just don’t know what albums will be on the list. The June list includes some definite winners and if you paid full price for some of these (like me), you just got burned. 😉
The recent B.o.B Presents: The Adventures Of Bobby Ray is on the list. Yes, this is the collection featuring Bruno Mars on Nothin’ On You and Hayley Williams on Airplanes. Norah Jones, John Mayer, The Fray, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Jay-Z, The Smashing Pumpkins, Coldplay, Duran Duran, and many more are each $5. You must take a look!
I had thought Korean brand Sempio pulled a coup detat on the soy sauce served at Kozo Sushi. But not so fast. Kozo has re-affiliated itself with the land of the rising sun by going with Yamasa who has a history with shoyu.
So from my collection of soy sauce packets, Kozo went from Kikkoman to Sempio to Yamasa.

Let’s continue our Madonna versus Lady Gaga comparison on popular television shows and look at who made a bigger impact on the wonderful world of Glee.
Madonna started it off with an entire episode dedicated to the Power of Madonna. This Glee musical collection tore up the Billboard charts and every performance in the episode was a Madonna hit. And who can forget Sue Sylvester’s rendition of Vogue?
A few episodes later, Lady Gaga’s music and looks were featured on Glee. Unfortunately, this episode lacked the impact and power of Madonna. While the Gaga musical numbers were good, the Glee guys were singing KISS songs.
But let’s get another opinion. When asked, which episode did Miss Universe 1997, Brook Antoinette Mahealani Lee, prefer?
@geewhy glee madonna for sure…
So that settles it. Round 2b goes to the power of Madonna!
Score: Madonna 1, Lady Gaga 2
So which of the music divas is more prevalent on popular television shows? Let’s take a quick look starting with the mega music reality television show known as American Idol.
Back in 2007, Madonna participated in the Idol Gives Back fundraiser but has never been a musical guest or mentor. In this season, Lady Gaga performed on Idol.
Hmmm, I have to give Gaga a slight nod in Round 2a.
Score: Lady Gaga 2, Madonna 0
