Gone, Secret Diary of Steve Jobs
It was fun while it lasted, but the Secret Diary of Steve Jobs blog is no more. All previous humorous posts have been removed, and everything’s been wiped clean. There were several funny posts based on real world Apple news which add a hint of possible realism to the posts.
Apple lawyers probably started their legal attack, shutting down the blog. Oh well, it was fun.

Nike+ Sports Kit Hack
So Nike wants you to buy a new pair of Nike+ running shoes that has a hollow space for the Nike+ Sports Kit sensor. These shoes cost around $100, but now third party companies are coming to the rescue with their own solutions. Take Marware’s Sportsuit Sensor+. This little velcro strap do-hickey wraps around the shoelaces of any shoe and holds the Nike+ sensor. Cost is $10.
I already got shoes. I can handle the $10 cost of the Sensor+. Now how to handle the cost of an iPod Nano? C’mon Google Adsense!

WWDC Results
I was stuck in a conference during the WWDC so I didn’t have time to really take a look at the announcements. The biggest move was Apple completing its transition to the Intel platform. The last two PowerPC-based Macs, the PowerMac and the Xserve, were replaced with the Mac Pro and the Intel Xeon-based Xserve.
The other big draw at the WWDC was the preview of the next Mac OS, code-named Leopard. Steve Jobs highlighted some of the features of Leopard that include the Time Machine, Spaces, and new versions of Mail and iChat. Time Machine is an automatic backup feature for users integrated into the OS, and Spaces is a virtual windowing environment where you can have different “spaces” for different purposes. Both Mail and iChat gain some advanced features and effects.

OS X Leopard = Vista 2.0?
Is Apple making some bold statements with a banner at WWDC that says something to the effect that Mac OS X “Leopard” is the coming of (Microsoft) Vista 2.0? Not 1.0, but 2.0, the next version of Vista.
Apple’s marketing crew is building up their moxie!

Making a Living Off of Google Ads
I wish I could make a great living off of paid clicks on Google ads. Some folks have been able to do it according to this article.
For me, Pulpconnection brought in $0.39 from Google AdSense for the month of July. But if I stopped working a traditional job and lived off of ads, where would I get ideas and inspiration for my crazy content? You know wacky stuff only happens in a real life work environment.

Cingular Charging $5 for Using Old Phones?
Wow, just noticed that Cingular is going to start charging its customers who use old school analog/TDMA cell phones. Cingular wants to drive their customers to their digital GSM network so they can phase out their analog network. So this $5 monthly fee is an “incentive” for customers to upgrade to a digital phone.
This means our old Nokia phone has to go. Let’s hope Apple finally announces its iPhone/iChat Mobile tomorrow at the WWDC!
