Yahoo! Search Builder
Want to add a search feature to your website or blog? Then give Yahoo! Search Builder a look. As a member of Yahoo!, you can customize your own search function, allowing visitors to search the web, your site, or Yahoo! news.
I’ve only spent all of 10 minutes playing around with Search Builder, and it looks promising. In my short encounter, I did define a search function, customized it, and added it to Blogger. But… I couldn’t get the search box to fit my Blogger template. Yahoo! Search Builder requires a minimum size of 300 pixels, and I guess my sidebar is smaller than that. For now, I’ll stick with Technorati’s embedded search function that works well enough.

Brunch at Cinnamon’s
We made our way out to Kailua this weekend to have breakfast brunch at Cinnamon’s Restaurant. Someone had raved about the pancakes, specifically the Carrot ones, and we had a birthday to celebrate nothing to do so I thought why not.
MSO ordered the Sauteed Mushroom Omelette with homefries Hashbrowns Sauteed with Bacon and, I ordered the Veggie From-Scratch Eggs Benedict with homefries Chicken Cutlet Omelette and a Full Stack of Carrot Pancakes Pumpkin Walnut Pancakes was available for whoever wanted to try or had room to spare. Most thought the Carrot Pancakes Pumpkin Walnut Pancakes were a little overrated good but overall everyone enjoyed didn’t enjoy for their selection.
Service was wasn’t good and I had no a problem with tipping our server with a little more. My only gripe is the parking. What is this metered parking crap?! Can’t people enjoy a nice meal or shopping experience without having to already dish out $1.50 $0.60 for parking? Oh well. It was nice for a change since we hardly ever get out to that area.

Didn’t have the Chocolate Eclair pancakes on special so I went with something different. I shoulda stuck with the tried and true selections. I didn’t care for my chicken cutlet omelette, and MSO didn’t really like her Hashbrowns Sauteed with Bacon aka The Artery Clogger. Our waitress was slow as pouring thick syrup (she must be new).
We did see a high school classmate we haven’t seen since graduation. Sara C. recently moved back to Hawaii after being in Chicago. She has two sons and, her husband opened up Aloha Salad(?) in the Kailua area, next to Lanikai Juice. Will have to check it out.
Marketing Via Blogs
Companies are giving a closer look at blogs to help advertise their products. Seems like more product promotions are being left to bloggers to spread the word. Coupled with traditional advertising, blogs provide a very cheap source of advertising.
Companies are increasingly partnering with hobby bloggers to harness the burgeoning influence of online buzz. Through the digital grapevine, companies reap the marketing rewards of free publicity, higher rankings on search engines and immediate access to conversations with consumers.
Sounds like a solid plan. Now, only if Apple would provide free test products to blog about… or I wouldn’t mind reviewing Nike products… or trying out Starbucks drinks.

New Stores Coming Up in Pearl City
The area around the Pearl City Wal-Mart continues to be developed. Construction recently began for a Wendy’s, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Quiznos, Panda Express, L&L, and Kozo Sushi. Besides these food vendors, there will be a Central Pacific Bank, Nextel, Bellagio nail salon, and the Pacific Endoscopy Center.
So after getting lunch, you can pick up a cell phone, get your nails done, then go in for an endoscopy session. That’s full service!

Flying Must Suck Now
Not trying to make light of the airlines terrorist plot in London, but the aftermath must make flying a terrible experience. No liquids allowed as carry on items, and no electronic devices like laptops, cell phones, and Zunes iPods either. Now I hear no books or magazines are allowed.
I can’t imagine a trans-Atlantic flight for what, 8-10 hours without anything to drink or anything to entertain yourself with (other than the measly offerings of the airlines. Do they still make you pay for food and drinks now?). The last flight I was on had no magazines other than the airlines own publication.
Man, oh man, what a flight. Might as well bring a potato head on board and try to keep entertained.
Robin Williams is an Alcoholic?
Seems like Robin Williams is getting help treating his second bout of alcoholism. I’m glad he’s proactively seeking treatment.
I never knew he was an alcoholic, but from his strange and zany antics, I had my suspicions he had “some assistance.”
