Even More Kicks
Recently, the Tabasco Woman asked if I bought all the shoes I mention on this site. I said no way since that would be hard to keep up with. But then, I got a feeling that she thought I was a shoe phony. Talking the kicks game but not living it. 😉
So I had to redeem myself and bought a pair of Nike Air Max 360 II. This camo version was on clearance at Macy’s so this regularly priced $160 pair of running shoes came out to $70! A good deal!
Starburys Coming to Hawaii
The affordable line of $15 Starbury kicks is coming to Hawaii with the opening of a Steve & Barry’s, the exclusive reseller of Starburys. Better yet, the latest Steve & Barry’s location is scheduled to open soon, by the end of 2007, in the Waikele Center where CompUSA used to be.
I was trying to get me a pair of $15 Starburys or Big Bens from relatives on the mainland, but Steve & Barry’s locations aren’t that common yet. Never mind now that Hawaii’s getting its own outlet. Maybe Santa will bring a box of Starburys this year…
Hot Kicks A-Comin’
The kicks universe never stops with more hot kicks coming your way.
The Air Force 1 will be crossed with the looks of the Air Max series for some interesting combos. Here’s the AF1 and AM95 remix coming in the summer of 2008.
For on-the-court appeal, Carmelo Anthony’s “M” line within the Jordan Brand is finally looking good. I thought previous M shoes looked chunky, but the upcoming Melo M4 is sleeker. And you can’t deny the stylings from the Air Garnett III when KG was still a member of Nike’s Fun Police.

Charles Barkley Air Force Pack
Sir Charles is getting his due treatment from Nike with the release of Air Force Ones done up in Barkley themes. These kicks will release starting in October, and I’m liking the Auburn colorways.
I still marvel how this mid-six footer managed to dominate the power forwards he’d match up with night after night. Here are some highlights of the Chuckster via YouTube.

Big Ben Starbury Kicks
Earlier this year, Stephon Marbury signed up Big Ben Wallace to join his Starbury line of affordable kicks. Big Ben will be wearing his Big Bens at the start of this NBA season.
$15 at Steve and Barry’s (which there are none in Hawaii). Reminds me of the LeBron Soliders, Ben’s shoes when he was with And1, and a little bit of the Tmacs.
Boxes of Kicks Anthology 2
Continuing my kicks anthology of boxes, here’s the next set.
Up top, we got the Air Max Penny 2, retro edition in the New York Knicks colors. Limited numbers were available at Champs, and they’re still in my rotation.
In the middle is the Shox Limitless. This was the first mainstream Shox basketball shoe and became a popular team shoe available in a wide range of colors. Derrick Low had these in his ILH days. The Limitless had high arches, and I needed inserts when wearing them.
On the bottom is the heart and soul of the Air Jordan lineup, the Air Jordan XI. This is the illin’ black and red pair. The XIs felt great and were easy to play in. Possibly the best shoes of all time.

Kicks Anthology of Boxes
While moving stuff around the house, I realized how many shoe boxes I still have. In general, I don’t think I throw away any of my shoe boxes! I store stuff in the boxes which are easily stackable.
Looking at the various boxes made me remember all the kicks I’ve had over the years. What memories!
So I bring to you my first set of kicks anthology of boxes.
On top is my most recent purchase, a pair of Air Max 95 from Kicks HI. These are the Houston Astro colorways. Very comfy.
In the middle is the lightest pair of shoes I’ve ever owned. The Air Hyper Flights were super light and sacrificed foot support to drop the weight. Court feel were great with these basketball shoes, but my legs and knees felt it after playing. These shoes looked futuristic and came in some pretty shocking colors. I had the straight up white ones.
On the bottom is the heaviest (and one of the most expensive) shoes I’ve owned. No doubt about it, the Air Pippens were dope. These were the Bulls black and red ones. Oh so nice. I think they’re still at my parents’ house! Playing in them though I always felt a step slower because of their heavy weight. They were good to practice in since during game day, I’d wear different sneaks and felt so much quicker. Probably all in my head though.

Feeding the Addiction
Visiting Niketalk is feeding my addiction to kicks. Not a good thing to feed an addiction. I purposely haven’t been to Niketalk for some time (and haven’t bought new shoes either). But…
Take another look at these new Jordan-inspired P-Rods! 
I read about these “J-Rods” last month but after following discussions about them and seeing more pics, I’m entranced!
Gotta stop going to Niketalk… 🙁

Nike LeBron Solidiers: Agony to Bliss
How quickly agony can turn to bliss. Witness LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ victory over the Detroit Pistons. Just a little over a month ago, LeBron James rolled his ankle while showcasing Nike’s new LeBron Soliders shoe.
Now while wearing the Soldiers, LeBron is going to the NBA Finals to meet the Spurs.
