Watching the iPhone Action on the Sidelines
Will be watching the iPhone frenzy from the sidelines today. Already saw numerous clips on CNN about the iPhone and folks waiting in line in New York. The Honolulu Advertiser has the iPhone on the front page, and fans are already in line at the Apple Store at Ala Moana.
I’m hoping to see a live “lifecast” of being in line at the Apple Store or an AT&T outlet while getting an iPhone.

What Happened to My Bad Poll?
Hey, what happened to my Bad poll in the sidebar? Was playing around with new Blogger in Draft features like the poll, but it vanished and got replaced by an ad.
I guess that’s why the poll feature is still in draft…
Are You Bad or Are You Superbad?
Michael Jackson was Bad. The Tabasco Man is bad a$$. Wayne’s World is a bad a$$ mofo, but these clowns are Superbad!
Superbad looks like another coming of age movie but does feature a shout out to Hawaii as one of the Superbad dudes gets a fake ID from the Aloha State. Call him McLovin.
Thanks Ryan!
The iPhone Got You By Your Cajones
You know you want an iPhone, and Apple and AT&T know it as well. So instead of providing price breaks and cheap migrations from other service plans, the two companies are playing hardball and got you by your cajones.
No discounts on the iPhone. Mandatory two-year service plan. No Go phone upgrades. No SIM card swapping.
Ouch! Can you feel that squeezing?!
Too Hot in Hawaii for Matisyahu?
You seen a reggae rappin’ Jew? Yeah? So you seen Matisyahu then. While recently performing in Hawaii, Pulp reader, s2daoosay was at the concert doing her usual stalking of Lost star Dominic Monaghan. I guess no one told Matisyahu how hot it really is in Hawaii, especially since he rocks that major facial hair and illin’ hat and is a freakazoid on the dance floor.
So after Matis rocks the house, the bloke goes and faints! Good thing Monaghan was there though cuz he called Jack to give Matis some medical attention then told Sayid, Locke, and Hurley to form a perimeter in case the Others were around.
Here’s some videos of Matisyahu performing in Hawaii. If you listen closely, you can hear s2daoosay screaming and woo-hooing in the background.
A pretty good rendition of Message in a Bottle (not from the Hawaii concert).
Want more Matisyahu? Check out his breakthrough Live at Stubb’s CD.

iPhone Reviews Now Available
Today was the first day public reviews of the iPhone were authorized for release. Here’s David Pogue’s video review of the iPhone in action. Pretty humorous!
iPhone Entrenching iTunes
The service plans for the iPhone are now available (starting plan at only $59.99 per month!). But the real interesting thing is that users need to activate the service using the iTunes software.
Now it makes sense to use iTunes to get the movies, music, and other goodies onto the iPhone but Apple made an interesting strategic choice by forcing iPhone users to use iTunes. That’ll mean more iTunes downloads (and more QuickTime downloads as well). Very smart!
Iz Remixed
In today’s Honolulu Advertiser, there’s a special tribute to local song artist, Israel Kamakawiwo`ole. And better yet, there’s a free CD single featuring the orchestral remix of Iz’s What a Wonderful World.
The entire Wonderful World CD will be available on Tuesday, June 26. You can preview the CD and order on-line here.
Uh oh, another music purchase?

Oden’s a Swoosher
Top NBA prospect, Greg Oden, signed an endorsement deal with Nike continuing his affiliation with the the company. Throughout Ohio State’s run for a National Championship, all the Buckeyes wore Nike Zoom LeBron IV’s.
I wonder if he’ll get his own signature shoe, aka the Air Odens? Though “big man” shoes simply don’t sell. Shoes endorsed by David Robinson, Alonzo Mourning, Patrick Ewing just didn’t move. All ballers want to be like the slashing, high flying, scoring guards. They want to be like Mike.
And one more…
Update: Oden blogged about joining the Nike family.
