Check out this custom made cake for Khloe Kardashian’s Anti-Valentine’s party at the Tao Nightclub in the Venetian Hotel in Vegas. Scary nice!
I sense some local kine stylin’s for this cake.
The tiny 50th state is a powerhouse in the consumption of pornography it seems. Hawaii ranks second in the viewing of online porn.
Thanks Wayne! All your efforts have paid off. Or do we thank Club 939? Or maybe it’s due to all the adults Hawaii has in correctional facilities?
The 57th Cherry Blossom Festival is themed “Perpetuating Our Traditions,” and we are now supporters, buying a shirt and program guide.
We’re rooting for Tanya Masunaga to make the Cherry Blossom court.
Heard Rella of 102.7 Da Bomb say that after 8 years on the radio, Da Bomb was going away. Was in context of tough economic times but might also be a marketing trick/promotion. Did the station change owners? New name for the station?
More details on Monday at 7:00 with Sam Da Man.
Sounds like a winner, combining Korean and Mexican flavors into a multicultural treat. I wonder when this crossover will cross over to Hawaii?
And Kogi Korean BBQ-To-Go uses Twitter to announce their next location.
My recently installed SDV tuning adapter failed me tonight during UH’s win over Fresno State in men’s hoops. The cable signal just stopped, and I wasn’t receiving all the stations. Weirdly enough, the freebie HD channels were there (1003, 1006, 1007, etc) but nothing else. After being on hold with Oceanic for a long time, the rep told me to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.
That did the trick. Didn’t have to power cycle the actual unit. Pretty random and strange “outage” that only affected some stations. At least the Rainbows won though I missed most of the game.
Bright and early this morning, an installer from Oceanic Time Warner showed up for the installation of my SDV tuning adapter. The overall install took a long time since the thorough tech checked signal strength throughout the household. Once that was done, the installation of the SDV tuning adapter was quick.
The boot up of the tuning adapter took longer than the unboxing and connecting of the device itself. The adapter I got? It’s a Cisco STA1520 which Engadget showed some time back.

The installation and cost of the tuning adapter is free, and what do I get from this box? Not much. I now get a few additional digital channels that Oceanic converted to SDV, but I’m not paying for additional premium stations or packages. I might get the HD pack for $7 a month which I could not receive without the SDV tuning adapter. So now I got options of paying Oceanic more money each month!
Former KHON Channel 2 news anchor Tannya Joaquin started her new job over at KGMB Channel 9. She now anchors the 5 and 6 PM weeknight broadcasts. Along with her on-air duties, she even has a KGMB9 blog called Ad-Lib where she explains why she “crossed the road” going from KHON to KGMB.
And yes, Tannya did go from Channel 2 to Channel 9 on 2-2-09, her official start date at KGMB.
I hope she continues her reporting on the fun stuff too. Like the iSpam incident in 2005 and going to Kicks Hawaii for Black Friday sales coverage.
With her move and other KGMB9 additions, I think there’s a serious shift in local newscaster eye candy. In 2005, KGMB didn’t even rate in the Listmania of Hottest Local Newscasters (unless Liz Chun was misrepresented with KITV), but now, Channel 9 has a damn strong showing.
