Signs of Hawaii: Park Art?
Do you consider this art or graffiti defacement at a local park?
I’m liking the planned out painted panorama featuring the angry pandas of Angry Woebot. Such detail make this artwork in my opinion.

After Christmas shopping (aka gift exchanges) at Ala Moana. Some random pictures I took.
This was after eating at Jade Dynasty.
What’s a Monday morning of vacation without food and foliage? Went to a family brunch serving pancake, waffles, lil smokies, Portuguese sausage, papaya, rice cake, bacon, and Christollen and Panettone breads. Then after brunch was foliage viewing, and kids pulling weeds “for fun.”
Curious about the new Jade Dynasty Restaurant in Ala Moana? Long story short, a family of dim sum eaters who typically dine at Legend in Chinatown and Royal Garden in the Ala Moana Hotel enjoyed the food. Overall, we gave it four stars in our Yelp review.
Pictures of some of our dishes.
My son might have wanted an airplane for Christmas, but this is kinda ridiculous!
Thanks to Dallas Nagata White for the pic and thanks to Hawaii Photo Rental for the rental of the behemoth Canon 28-300mm lens. And of course, thanks to PACAF for the invitation of the arrival of Air Force One and its special guests.
Which offense was worse? Leon Rodrigues driving down the street President Obama’s Kailua compound is at to allude police or basketball teammates, Renardo Sidney and Elgin Bailey, fighting in the stands of the Stan Sheriff Center while watching a game?
The spirit of Christmas is thriving as told by these light displays of Kaneohe homes. Each home had its own holiday theme, but surprisingly, I didn’t see Santa’s reindeer. Where did the reindeer go?

Merry Christmas!
On late Wednesday night, Air Force One touched down at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam bringing some special guests, President Obama, Senator Akaka, and Congresswoman Hirono. Here are some pictures from that night.
Thanks to Pacific Air Forces and Pacific Command for this rare opportunity.
With the recent torrential rains, Ala Moana Center has had its share of power problems. Sections of the mall have been without power during crucial shopping times. Starting on Sunday, December 19, there’s been hours of power outages. Here’s just a few of the makeshift signs informing patrons of the closures.
Starbucks in Macy’s had the best handmade signs.
Shirokiya offered this “apology.”
Strangely enough, for a store that caters to Japanese visitors, I didn’t see a sign written in Japanese. Just signs like the one above giving out “Mahalo’z”.
Macy’s didn’t even bother with signs. I guess they let common sense rule – doors locked, lights are off, we must be closed.
Even without electricity, the Apple Store was still open on a limited basis.
With the lights off, you still could buy an iPad.
I guess with charged iOS devices equipped with credit card readers and 3G wireless service, purchases could still go through??
