The WWDC Magic Has Begun!
WWDC 2008 is underway. Keep up to date at:
Mac OS X 10.6 “Snow Leopard” is mentioned.
iPhone Apps. For the Tabasco Man from MacRumorsLive coverage:
MLB.com. The app shows today’s games with live, detailed scoring. It also includes real-time video highlights, which are delivered right after the play — not the game. It will be included in the launch of the App Store.
MobileMe at me.com. Not launched quite yet. Screenshot of me.com.

Powered by Snappville.com?
RIP .Mac. MobileMe is now the official successor of Dot Mac which I originally thought was a clever comeback to Microsoft’s .Net craziness a few years back. Dot Mac users automatically converted to MobileMe (not sure what happens to all the .mac links and URLs). Storage upped to 20 GB (last I remember it was 10 GB??).
3G iPhone is coming and cheaper ($199)! But available on July 11 (worldwide).
An iPhone Is an "Electric Computer?"
Has the next generation iPhone hit the shores of America? Check out this article touting the delivery of 188 ocean containers of “electric computers.”
Very suspicious.

This would be juicy. An AT&T discount of $200 on the iPhone?

My Crazy Starbucks Secret Idea
So what is Starbucks’ bigger-than-Venti secret coming up this Tuesday? Rumors on the web say a high end, upscale coffee made by hand that tastes great or free refills for a regular coffee drink. Boring!
Let’s go out on a crazy limb and collaborate with my favorite fruit company, Apple. There’s the hubbub of Apple’s iPhone and its Wi-Fi Music Store available in the Starbucks airwaves. There are also the rumors of a new business model for iPhones connected to an all-you-can-listen subscription. Instead of paying permanently for individual songs, you essentially get access to the entire iTunes music catalog. Sounds like a good idea once you look at the financial numbers.
How about combining both and offering unlimited access to the iTunes music catalog only while at Starbucks? So while you’re drinking your joe, you can download music to your iPhone’s 16-GB content. Would that make iPhone and music (and caffeine addicted) fanatics come back to Starbucks again and again? Probably, and you can’t be a complete music hog since you’ll run out of iPhone flash memory space soon enough.
So Starbucks gets a ton of repeat customers, Apple gets a bunch more iPhone sales, AT&T gets more wireless customers, and the music industry gets a stable influx of cash from the premium fee to access unlimited tunes.
Now this is a Venti big (and a crazy idea)!
Possible iPhone Nano in the Works?
While Apple applies for a bunch of patents, this one is interesting. With a “dual sided trackpad” attached to a cell phone, you increase the surface area of interfacing with the phone, but the phone itself can be small.
Sounds like the groundwork for a small iPhone Nano…
Thanks to Coco Bean
Long overdue, but thanks to Coco Bean for contributing for a pulpy iPhone! Her contribution was delivered in a professional looking, hand made card with awesome words of encouragement.
Thanks Coco Bean!
