Hauns Brereton on Fire with His Red Kicks
Will Hauns Brereton keep his fiery Adidas when UH’s Big West season begins? Okay, so these red and black Adidas don’t match the UH unis, but superstition says that if you got the hot hand, you keep doing what you been doing. If Hauns can score 47 points a game then he needs to keep them kicks!

No H50 Nikes Spotted
Scanning pictures taken from the blessing ceremony for Season 3 of Hawaii Five-0, I didn’t see anyone wearing the custom designed Nike Free Trainer 5.0. These shoes needed an appearance at this event. 🙁
I’m hoping these kicks are seen sometime this season on or off air, preferably on air. C’mon H50, if you got custom kicks, you gotta book’em rock’em!
Nike Zoom Structure Is For Me
I can’t deny it. Nike’s Structure line of running shoes is for me. No matter what other Nikes I experiment with, I always come back to the Structure. I used to run in the Moto but moved up to the more supportive Structure line. I’ve had the 12, the 14, and recently, picked up the discounted 15. Darn Zappos for telling me about these shoes!!
I guess my flat feet need the stability provided by these shoes. I wasn’t completely sold on this wolf grey colorway, but in person, they’re not bad. And you know you can get away with the most outlandish, gaudy shoes while running. In fact, it’s expected!
Did I Not Blog the LunarEclipse?
Looks like I completely missed blogging about my Nike LunarEclipse+ 2 running shoes.
I got them in March after reading rave reviews online. Sadly, these just ain’t for me. They do feel hella good, but there isn’t enough support for my fallen arches. I tried changing up my running style, using the balls of my feet and reducing my heel strikes, but I’m not quite there. I can feel how the LunarEclipse is more suited to this gait, but it doesn’t come natural to me. When I’m not concentrating, I can feel my heel striking the pavement. Overtime, this shock is starting to affect my knees and shins. The discomfort comes and goes, but I think prolonged running in these will eventually lead to persistent pain. I may split my runs with different shoes to see if that helps.
I do like walking in them as with the original LunarEclipse. I gotta say that there are improvements in the LunarEclipse 2. There’s less wiggle room with a smaller toebox. The FlyWire didn’t do enough to shape the LE1 to my foot. The customized fit system and its “fingers” in the LE2 do a much better job. BUT, it’s odd to feel the fingers. I noticed that recent Nike Free Run shoes feature the customized fit system but covers up the fingers so they don’t directly touch your feet. The floaty-ness of the heel cup is no longer noticeable in the LE2. I kinda like and don’t like the floating cup in the LE1.
Style wise, the LunarEclipse 2 is eye-popping and beats the look of the LunarEclipse 1 any day. And for that, I’ll keep these LunarEclipses around.
Yes, Spalding Makes Kicks
With the Miami Heat’s championship, there may be a surge in the sales of Spalding basketball shoes. Yes, Spalding makes kicks as displayed by Heat guard Mario Chalmers. He wears the Spalding Splash that looks like this.
So what if DWade who’s endorsed by Team Jordan and LeBron with his own Nike signature line don’t approve of the Spaldings, at $90 these are not exorbitantly priced.
If you’re not wooed by the Splash, then you’ll have to wait for the LeBron X shoe, releasing later this year at a rumored $315!!
Jeremy Lin Spoke to Me
After a recent, tiring run, I thought I was hallucinated. I heard Jeremy Lin speaking to me. He was congratulating me on my workout. Oh wait, that was JLin speaking through the Nike+ system.
Instead of congratulating me on my run, I would rather JLin tell me he’s giving me a pair of his custom kicks.
Wear Linsanity for $100
Linsanity for your feet is black and orange and costs $100. That’s the details for the latest Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low “Linsanity” edition. Supposedly released this weekend.
Not sure how this black and orange colorway represents JLin, but who am I to question Linsanity?

TJ Maxx Pearl City Has Lots of Thongs
The second TJ Maxx on Oahu opened today in the Pearl City area, and I went looking for kicks/sneakers/shoes. Â Maybe a discounted Air Jordan, an older Air Max, or a not-so-popular Hyperfuse could be found at the grand opening right? Nope, no men’s shoes anywhere, just lots and lots of thongs. Â Dressy ones, leather ones, casual ones, waterproof ones. So many slippers, but no shoes of any type. Â There are women’s shoes but none for the guys. And yes, there are footwear thongs for women and kids.
I didn’t catch the festivities before the store opened for business at 8am. I got there right at 8 and walked right on in, getting a free TJ Maxx bag.
The store seems smaller on the inside. It looks bigger on the outside. I took a quick stroll through the store before the crowds and lines started to build. Â As I was leaving, more and more people were entering.

Hawaii Five-0 Hotness
Book’em Danno indeed! Check out these limited edition Hawaii Five-0 Nike Free Trainer 5.0. Made for the H50 cast, the customizations are mind blowing. Â “Book’em Danno” on the tongue, “Hawaii” and “Five-0” on the heel backs, and the sock liner with the names of the cast and their respective character names (sorry Kamekona). The colors are themed after the show’s logo.
You can see these H50 Free Trainers tonight as Daniel Dae Kim, aka Chin Ho Kelly, throws out the first pitch for the Philadelphia Phillies game.
