What Is "The Secret"

I’ve been hearing some rumblings about a book and DVD called “The Secret,” but I don’t get it. Oprah raved about the teachings of “The Secret” which instantly lends a significant amount of credibility. More recently, a blog or two sprouted up talking about “The Secret” so there must be something to this.

From what little I know, “The Secret” is a self help book focusing on positive thinking. Anyone care to enlighten me on what is “The Secret” or why it’s so great?

    what makes this re-hashing of ‘positive-thinking’ different is that the cult-leader guy promotes materialistic goals instead of happiness, world peace, recycling, etc. he says that if you want a $1 million, all you have to do is believe it, and you’ll get it…. eventually… (disclaimer).
