Grey’s Anatomy Spin-off, I Don’t Get It

I watched this week’s extended episode of Grey’s Anatomy that intertwined its spin-off show featuring Dr. Addison Montgomery, and I don’t get it. Most of the new series feels wrong, so unlike Grey’s Anatomy.
Addison doesn’t seem like the California type of character and doesn’t really match the holistic healing approach of the Oceanside Wellness Group. This place isn’t a hospital so there’ll be less drama associated with life saving surgeries. And with the staff wearing regular clothes instead of scrubs and lab coats, there’s a laid back vibe that can’t be taken seriously.

The staff at the Oceanside Wellness Group has their share of problems like our Grey’s faves, but c’mon with that surfing male receptionist. That hair!? And he’s supposed to be eye candy for the female docs who wait for his shirtless trips to catch waves?
And Taye Diggs is short.

The music for both “shows” is great as usual. The right song for the right situation has been a trademark of Grey’s thanks to music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas. By the way, there’s a song called “Your Song” that’s performed by Kate Walsh, but this Kate Walsh is not the same Kate Walsh who plays Addison Montgomery.
I’m hoping the spin-off is kanked, and everybody stays put.
