Unlucky Eight for Billy Ray Cyrus
The number 8 is just not for Billy Ray Cyrus. On Week 8, on May 8, Billy Ray Cyrus was (finally) voted off of Dancing with the Stars. Throughout his 8-week tenure, Billy Ray showed some improvement but never did receive an 8 from the judges.
This leaves a talented quartet of Ian Ziering, Laila Ali, Apolo Anton Ohno, and Joey Fatone left in the Semi-finals. Shockingly, Joey and Kym Johnson were in the bottom two along with Billy Ray and Karina.
This goes to show that America still loves Cheryl Burke. From their performance and scores, Cheryl and Ian Ziering deserved to be in the bottom two, but… In her years on Dancing with the Stars, Cheryl has never been in the bottom two. Never. And her streak continues. But Ian Ziering is going backwards so a three-peat is looking tough.
Laila Ali is gaining momentum, but I still don’t feel it.
Going back to the words of LL Cool J, “Don’t call it a comeback” describes the dances of Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough. They were zeroed in just like the Detroit Pistons beating up on the Bulls. Could Julianne actually be a better choreographer than Cheryl Burke?
Just when Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson looked like they were making their title run, they end up in the bottom two. But this could actually be a blessing since the fans will have their back in Week 9.
