With the start of the NBA coming around the corner, a vendor is selling custom iPod cases featuring the logos of NBA teams. Too bad sporting an iPod with headphones violates the NBA’s new dress code for players.
AI in business casual attire? Sorry, can’t imagine Iverson covering up his tats.
Listen to this mellowed out version of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s Baby Got Back. Can barely recognize the memorable song lyrics from this tune.
Speaking of self-promotion, you gotta love a guy with the gumption to sup up a 89 Dodge Caravan minivan and race that thing. Funny thing is he’s beaten folks on the racetrack.
Here’s the rear view of the bad a** minivan.
I wouldn’t do that to our Toyota Sienna. At most, I’d pimp out the inside with a video iPod connected to the miniscreen to watch some ripped DVDs, TV shows, or Merynn’s favorite music videos (Schoolhouse Rock anyone?)
Some guy actually collected old security posters that many of us at work are familiar with. I haven’t seen the ones mentioned in his article, but some of them are just plain bad.
Read two interesting articles in today’s Honolulu Advertiser Business section. The first article talked about self-promotion, aka bragging, to get ahead at work. Kinda sounds like Kazuo’s mantra of “I may not be much, but I’m all I think about.”
The second article looks at how typical office cubicle farms are undergoing changes to match open, team-based work environments.
How can you think outside the box when you’re working inside one?
Drove out to Waipahu to look at baby gear at USA Baby. Before going to the store, we stopped off at the Poke Stop, run by Chef Elmer Guzman formerly of Sam Choy’s Diamond Head Restaurant. Food is good but pricey.
For dinner, we tried Ige’s Restaurant and 19th Puka in Pearl City. The place is deceptively huge. A whole lot of tables, a whole lot of people, and a whole lot of food. Food is tasty (no Tabasco required). We’d go back there. Too bad they’re not open for lunch.
And oh yeah, the dude working in the front is on the local Body Mint commercial.
Mark Cuban, the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, blogs about how the new Disney CEO, Bob Iger, can be credited for saving network television. With Disney/ABC partnering with Apple to offer television shows downloadable via iTunes, Bob Iger has changed the economic ball game of television and commercial advertisements.
A very interesting read with good explanations of the business of television. Take a gander at Mark Cuban’s blog maverick for other insightful articles.
I posted the video slideshow I did for Brenda’s Retirement Party on my other web site. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, be sure to check it out.
Watch the video. Give it about a minute before the video starts playing. QuickTime required.
Pictures and movies from other work events.
Previously I talked about getting videos to play on the new video iPod. Engadget.com has an article about getting DVD content on to an iPod using Windows-based tools.
Windows tools? Why would you want to do that? The way to do it is to buy yourself a new Mac. Just ask the Tabasco Man.
Just look at the interface for the Windows tools you need to use. UGLY!
It was bound to happen. Wayne’s World, CCTWT, and Pulpconnection have joined forces for the latest blogging news. While each site will continue to offer its own original content, the Tabasco Man, WW, and Gee Why are now contributors to each other’s sites.
Wayne’s World will feature the latest deals and talk about events around the Island. CCTWT will keep an eye on the sporting world and technology advancements (especially in the realm of couple-cavity traveling-wave tubes) while Pulpconnection will continue its discussion on kicks, Apple, and management (with a sprinkle of news from Club 939).
If you have 80 minutes of time to be inspired, be sure to watch Steve Jobs present at the October 12 Apple Special Event that saw the release of a new iMac, the video iPod, and iTunes 6.0. Steve’s reality distortion field was at it again.

Ack, my mind can’t take any more! Apple announced yet another special event scheduled for Wednesday, October 19. This is the third special event in less than two months.
Rumored to be released at this event are the last PowerPC-based G4 Powerbooks but with higher resolution screens and new Power Mac G5s with dual core Power PC processors.
This event is supposed to “unveil Apple’s latest pro innovations.” Could be the new PowerBook and PowerMac announcements, could also be newer professional-level software.
Steve Job’s reality distortion field is in full effect. It ain’t me Tabasco Man, blame it on Steve.
