At the D8 conference, Steve Jobs talked many things including the challenges for the AppleTV (and any other set top box). Sounds so straightforward, and I’m hoping Apple has a solution.

Doing a quick price comparison on the new Ultra Weekend 6 release shows a better deal on Amazon. Amazon’s price is $11.99, includes one additional exclusive track, and comes with a Amazon credit of $4 for their Video on Demand Service. Cost on iTunes is $13.99 for 24 tracks.
Although the track listing looks good, there’s a lot of complaints and low ratings for Ultra Weekend 6. Whoa, is that Haddaway on What is Love 2K9?
Congratulations to Nicole Scherzinger for winning the championship of Dancing with the Stars! Season 10 featured talented performers with a great top three dancing it out in the Finals. Potential dancing queen, Erin Andrews was the first to fall then Nicole and Derek knocked out Evan and Anna with a jamming jive.
If you missed Nicole’s Finals performances, here they are.
Nicole and Derek owned Season 10, averaging a score of 28.1 over all their dances, and they kept their game in check. Derek didn’t get sick, Nicole didn’t cover up, spat with Brooke Burke, or get all diva, and the pair didn’t adopt a dorky moniker. No fail here!
Season 10 of DWTS will be tough to top, not only for the talent but for these hidden gems. Though these gems can’t beat what Gilles Marini showed in Season 8.
Gotta love Apple and its run on the stock market. As of yesterday, “Apple’s business was worth $200 billion and Microsoft’s was worth $197 billion.”

Have you seen Apple’s new marketing campaign called Why You’ll Love a Mac? Gone are the humorous adventures of Mac and PC, replaced by these factoids that explain why you’ll love a Mac.
Kinda on the boring side, but it lays out the Mac advantages quicker than watching numerous videos of John Hodgman and Justin Long.
Could it be? Could ESPN analyst Erin Andrews be the 10th champion of Dancing with the Stars? Highly regarded to be a DWTS Finals of Evan Lysacek and Nicole Scherzinger, underdog Erin made a statement for the mirrorball trophy with solid dances.
Erin’s first performance reprising the rumba bested Evan and Nicole, and I must say that her freestyle stood out for its daring and difference. Using a couch and bed as props was risky, but they were rewarded for taking a chance. Only a miscue in Derek and Nicole’s freestyle prevented the pair from receiving the highest overall score of the night.
Evan and Anna had a rocky first night of the Finals, coming in third. Who knew that choreographing a freestyle routine would give so much grief for the dancing pros?
What gets your salivary glands juiced up more, li hing mui or the upcoming recruiting class for the UH basketball program? Eight sought after recruits are playing for Manoa next year and even though they are unproven, the potential is there.
And was that Josten Thomas and his family taking in the aloha lifestyle at the Sheraton Waikiki during his official visit?
Happened to catch the last television broadcast of KHON sportscaster, John Veneri.
After 16 years in front of the camera, John will be handling marketing and promotions for KHON.
After six seasons, LOST has come to an end, and all I can say is thanks. Thanks for the weekly adventure into the mystical, the philosophical, the mysterious, the fantastic, and always exciting island of LOST.
And thanks for showcasing Hawaii and all its beauty and becoming part of our community. That’s how we got hooked on the show, meeting the stars in our community. Our first personal LOST encounter was meeting Josh Holloway in the parking lot of Foodland Hawaii Kai. He was a regular guy buying his groceries and didn’t mind taking pictures with us.
There was that brief run in with Henry Ian Cusick followed by not one, not two, not three, but four encounters with Jorge Garcia. The first time I was unprepared. The second time was awesome and even awesomer with a blog comment from Jorge himself. The third time was a near passing as I spotted Jorge at the local farmer’s market but missed a photo opportunity. And the fourth time was a surprise as he strolled right in front, parked across from us at Longs.
Let’s not forget the LOST filming inside Club 939. Watch the segment if you missed it, and here are some screen grabs with commentary.
I’m pretty sure that was Sonya Walger aka Penny Widmore at brunch at Halekulani, and that was definitely Naveen Andrews at Ala Moana, shopping at Neiman Marcus and at the Lego store.
There was the accidental encounter of the LOST crew setting up at Miki’s for this brief scene with Miles. And most recently, the filming at Bishop Museum for the music concert that brought together many LOST memories.
So LOST, thank you. Thanks for becoming part of the Hawaii community and thanks for all the great memories.
