My New MacBook Pro
At work, I was fortunate enough to order the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and accessories in November. After a prolonged ordering process, my (third party) order finally went through. After not hearing any more after a few days, I contacted the company that replied with a tracking number. Albeit a slow delivery of about a week for early January, at least, my order was on its way.
This past week, our receiving department informed me that I had a package. I went to pick up my new MacBook Pro and found this.
Yup, that’s it. Whenever I order a laptop, I always buy a spare power adapter, and that’s what arrived, not the actual MacBook Pro. No word when that’s arriving…
Defining a Norovirus Outbreak
According to the CDC, an outbreak of the Norovirus is defined as:
An outbreak of norovirus is defined as an occurrence of two or more similar illnesses resulting from a common exposure that is either suspected or laboratory-confirmed to be caused by norovirus.
So when more than half of those attending a party gets stricken with similar stomach issues, that should be cause to report a possible Norovirus incident. For Hawaii, the Disease Investigative Branch can be contacted at (808) 586-8362.
Holiday Gift Guide 2016: Road Rage Defuzah
So the days are counting down to Christmas, and people’s anxieties are increasing. With extra crowded roadways, it’s even easier to encounter road rage. But this holiday gift can easily diffuse the tense situation. It’s the Road Rage Defuzah (yes, defuzah).
One side of the sign says “Mahalo” while the other says “My Bad.” When you need to say thanks or acknowledge a poor driving decision, hold up the Defuzah for the driver behind you, and all’s good.
Unfortunately, the Road Rage Defuzah is currently limited in availability, and you need to be in the know in order to get one.
How Long Does Two-Day Shipping Take?
So as Cyber Monday wound down, I learned of deep discounts at Cole Haan online. Along with a one-day discount of 50%, clearance items were already marked down 30%. On top of that, in partnership with Shop Runner, there was free two-day shipping.
Cyber Monday was November 28. It’s now December 7, and there’s still no sign of my order. I know shipping to Hawaii traditionally takes a bit longer, and here’s what the tracking looks like.

After one week, my order has moved within California. I hadn’t realized that Cole Haan is no longer owned by Nike and therefore can’t tap into Nike’s awesome logistics and shipping system where two-day delivery really comes close to two days.
I Almost Missed Christmas
It’s a good thing I didn’t solely rely on the LEGO 2016 calendar. Otherwise I could have missed Christmas this year. Check out the month of December 2016.

According to this calendar, Christmas is on a Friday with December 1 falling on a Tuesday. Really though, December 1, 2016 was on a Thursday, and Christmas is on a Sunday. I guess having 11 of the 12 months accurate is good enough?
Black Hills or Mount Rushmore
Hmmm, so I’m guessing to make more sales, the same puzzle is sold as two different products? Check out the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore puzzles sold at Costco – kinda look like the same puzzles, no?
Admitting my ignorance, I didn’t know Mount Rushmore was in the Black Hills area of South Dakota, so I guess I woulda bought one of each. But just imagine mixing up the puzzle pieces from both sets. That would be 2000 pieces of torture trying to piece together both.
Inspired by the Supermoon
Early Monday morning, I awoke and walked outside to catch a glimpse of the largest supermoon in recent history. As the clouds cleared, the sight of this lunar phenonmenon cleared away any sleepiness, and inspired, I took this picture.
I call it “Bright Moon and Two Lights,” and here it is.
I’m hoping for a better showing tonight…
