Which Superhero Are You?
Answer a few questions (honestly now) to find out which superhero character you match up with.
I turned out to be Spiderman. Good thing I answered No to “do you ever wear a pushup bra.” Otherwise I might have been Wonder Woman.

MJ Divorces
Michael Jordan and wife Juanita filed for divorce after a 17-year marriage.
Is it me or has 2006 seen a good share of breakups?
iTunes Store Overwhelmed
Maybe a few more people gave out iTunes Gift Certificates than originally thought. Maybe there were a lot of new iPod owners on Christmas Day instead of people asking, “Where’s my iPod?“
In either case, there was too much traffic hitting the on-line iTunes Store on Christmas Day, and the Store just bogged down. Supposedly, the site received 413 percent more hits than Christmas 2005.
I think that’s a good problem to have!

Holiday Highlight-ers
Some highlights from this Holiday season. The theme is an “-er” theme. Follow along.
- Luc Leafwalker Musical Rocker
- Fisher Price Corn Popper
- Silly Suitcase Mr. Potato Head aka the “Tater”
- Comfy Comfort Chair aka the Lounger
- La Pavoni burr coffee grinder
- Nike Dunk Low CL Black/Medium Grey/Neutral Grey inspired by Air Jordans. The “Kicker”
- And of course, good ole Santer
Other Good Gifts?
The Pulpconnection Gift Guide offered a variety of gift possibilities, but there were some omissions. Such as…
- Apple’s iPod. Featured as one of Oprah’s Favorite Things for 2006, all the different iPods make absolutely great gifts, especially for those who ask, “Where’s my iPod?“
- D*** in a Box. Saturday Night Live offered a censored version of this short film starring Justin Timberlake. Then SNL made the uncensored version available on YouTube (mild profanity and lots of humor).
- B**bs in a Box. Not to be outdone, the ladies offer their rendition.
Pau until Holidays 2007…

Missing from iLife: Video Clip Manager
I love Apple’s iLife suite of apps and how they allow people to make some fun things. I regularly use iPhoto to store and organize all my pictures, iMovie HD to make movies and slideshows, and iTunes, while not a formal component of iLife, stores all my music. I use iDVD once in a while when I do make DVD discs. I cooled off on using iWeb since Pulpconnection is my main web presence, and I never did use GarageBand (unless I start podcasting).
But after this video-taking holiday season, I now realize that there’s a hole in iLife’s offerings. There is no application to store and organize video clips. iTunes can store television shows, movies, and finished homemade movies (formatted for the iPod), and iPhoto can store video clips taken with digital cameras, but how do I store and organize all my video footage taken with my DV camcorder? If you import them into iMovie, you’ll have one gigantic movie project to work with, and iMovie isn’t built for that job.
Right now I have a stack of miniDV tapes sitting on my desk just to store my footage, but I really don’t know what’s on each tape. It would be great if iLife has an app that can import my footage, allow me to organize and catalog/tag the videos, then be a media source for iMovie when I want to make a movie.
Yeah, yeah, this app will eat up hard drive space like the Tabasco Man at a sashimi buffet, but at least I have my video clips in a more usable and accessible format. Besides that 500 GB Western Digital My Book external hard drive is looking better and better.
MacWorld Expo 2007 is right around the corner, so I’m hoping iLife ’07 has some new offerings in store.
Thoughts on Updating Pulpconnection
Before I change the Pulpconnection template to the new Blogger Beta, I was wondering what kind of changes I should include. Here are some ideas:
Would really like to revamp the visual look of the site. I like this TicTac template developed by Dan Cederholm of Simplebits.com, but as a standard Google template, other blogs have this same look, and you don’t really feel too original. But then again, I don’t got the skills to seriously develop a whole new look. Maybe I’ll have to consult with bklyngrl to see if she has any suggestions.
Digg option. Will add a “Digg this” link for posts. I don’t have diggable posts but you never know…
Better use of tags and labels. Want to better integrate/combine Technorati tags and Blogger labels. At least format their appearance better.
Links of projects? Maybe a small section of links of projects and other stuff I’m working on. Stuff like KinWahChopSuey.com, Flickr pics, my iWeb site, and a possibly-redone 939 site.
Recent comments. Going to add a sidebar section to show recent comments. Sometimes there’s active discussion on older posts, but because the post is buried, people don’t know about it.
Advertisements. Of course, in my attempt to make money off of this venture, I’ll keep the advertisements from Google AdSense and BlogKits. Total made lifetime – $11.33 (all from Google ads).
