Buffy Still Got It
Even after being off the air for seven years, Buffy the Vampire Slayer still got it. Yes, the television series has a 2010 calendar.

On the hunt for a camera bag to hold a DSLR, a lens or two, and a bunch of other stuff. The ability to tote a laptop is probably a good idea in the long run since at least you have the option rather than carrying a second bag.
Nothing too fancy or expensive either. The two contenders are the Lowepro Fastpack 250 and the Kata KT DR-467
. The Kata looks way cooler and has well thought out additions to the bag, but it looks like the DR line is going through a line up change with “i” revisions. But finding the new 467i model ain’t easy, especially in Hawaii. Amazon doesn’t yet offer the i models and in general, the Kata bags are sold through 3rd party vendors without the free super saver shipping, increasing the cost by around $20-30.
So it looks like it’ll be the Lowepro which has excellent reviews and an interesting side access panel to easily pull out your DSLR. Both bags are bigger and bulkier than I had wanted, but it’s the obvious trade off of wanting to carry more or less in the packs.
My burger from a recent visit to The Counter Burger at Kahala. As usual, great burger, just excuse the messy onions.
Looking to get a beginner’s flash to go along with my DSLR camera. The Canon Speedlite 430EX II looks good enough for me and is on sale at Amazon through January 16.

Has Jennifer Love Hewitt lost it? Is she making a play to get back in the limelight with her latest interview on the George Lopez talk show, Lopez Tonight? Yikes!
I gotta admit that Sony’s new “web cam,” the Bloggie, is kinda cool. Here’s a vid of the unboxing of a Bloggie. That 360-degree lens is wild!
As long time Pulpconnection readers know, I write about visits to local shopping malls and often poke fun at the things I see. I have no connections or insider knowledge of these shopping venues, instead reporting back what I publicly observe while strolling around. Coincidentally, Windward Mall has taken the brunt of my ribbing since I frequent there and have seen changes in the mall over the years.
This led to a phone call from the General Manager of Windward Mall, Jonathan Kim. The GM personally called to provide background about the shops in the mall, the effects of the tough economy, and plain and simple, that business happens. Wow! That’s absolutely great! No, not the part about the tough economy affecting business, but the fact that the GM himself found time to reach out to someone who’s shown interest in Windward Mall. He even offered the opportunity for future discussions about the mall. Now that’s caring, and I applaud the management of Windward Mall for this outreach!
What would be even cooler is to see the mall take part in social media opportunities in these times. There’s already a @windwardmall Twitter account so they’re on their way. Maybe something like the recent Pono Media promotion with McDonalds for the newly renovated Pa`ina Ko`olau Food Court with Road Runner wifi access might be a successful way to tap into the social media market. Hawaii does have a fair share of representation in Twitvite’s top users and having tweetups at the Food Court might be a way to magnify all the good things that are happening at the mall that cares.
You ever wonder what’s the caffeine content in your drink? Here’s a great poster that shows how much caffeine buzz you’ll get from a variety of popular drinks.
I didn’t think Starbuck’s java would be so potent, even at 12 oz of the brew. So that 16-oz grande must really get you popping! Usually, the little canned Starbucks Doubleshot gets me jumpy, but that’s still weaker than most vendors’ coffees. I’m guessing that the iced coffee at Starbucks has essentially the same caffeine content as its hot counterpart. I wonder how my preferred Royal Mills Iced Cappuccino rates?
And what memories! Royal Mills Kona Espresso was so good, but now remembering the taste alludes me. 🙁
I haven’t bought a pair of basketball shoes since I retired from the game, but these Air Max LeBron VII Dunkman Editions might change my mind.
