When You Need Big Pieces o’ Pus
When aural pleasures won’t do, and you need big pieces o’ octopus, head to Shirokiya. They got you covered with big pieces of octopus.
Why and what for, I don’t know.
Oobis Are Disturbing?
Is it only me that finds the Oobi kids show disturbing? Here’s a clip if you’ve never seen the show (now on Nick Jr.).
See? Disturbing.
When You Need Aural Pleasures
Sometimes you just need aural pleasures in your life. When you do, here’s an oldie mix of songs from back in the day.
Sadly, it’s only a subset because of the lameness of iMixes in iTunes 9. Missing aural pleasures are:
- One Week, Barenaked Ladies
- Mary’s Prayer, who sings this?
- Father of Mine, Everclear
- Hooch, Everything
- Fire Escape, Fastball
- I Think I’m Paranoid, Garbage
- Flagpole Sitta, Harvey Danger
- Can’t Get Enough of You Baby, Smash Mouth
- West End Girls, Pet Shop Boys
Boo to iMixes in iTunes 9
Haven’t noticed until now but iTunes 9 has changed the way you make iMixes. The biggest change is removing the ability to add songs you don’t own to an iMix. Previously, you could add songs you didn’t purchase but are available on iTunes to your iMix. Now it seems you have to own a song to add it to an iMix.
Bummed.
10 Best Movies of the Decade, I’ve Seen Half
Entertainment Weekly has their Best of the Decade series going, and here’s their 10 Best Movies of the Decade.
10. Almost Famous
9. Lost in Translation
8. The 40 Year-Old Virgin
7. Children of Men
6. Moulin Rouge
5. WALL-E
4. The Dark Knight
3. Gladiator
2. Brokeback Mountain
1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Out of the top ten, I’ve surprisingly seen half of them (the bolded ones). How about you? And what do you think of this list?
Holiest O Holy Night?
My all-time favorite Christmas song is Willie K’s version of O Holy Night (Po Hemolele). This song starts off the Christmas holidays for me.
Then I heard that Natalie Ai Kamauu does an excellent rendition as well. Lo and behold, Natalie sings O Holy Night on her new Christmas CD, love & peace and unity.
Note: love & peace and unity is now available on iTunes for $9.99. Sure beats the $14 I paid for the CD at Walmart. Buy from ![]()
What’s your holiest of the O Holy Nights?
The Adventures of the Off-Roading Mailman
Last we saw my off-roading mailman, he was making his postal deliveries, pushing his driving abilities to their maximum to minimize his physical exertion. Today was not his day. Maybe he tried to cut a corner too precisely. Maybe he saw a more efficient angle that would save him milliseconds. Maybe the home owner trimmed the hedge confusing the mental layout of the mail carrier’s path. Whatever the case, there was a casualty in the form of a busted flower pot.
I can’t wait for the next exciting episode of the Adventures of the Off-Roading Mailman!
Facebook Funnies
I’ve seen some of these Facebook faux pas before, but they’re still funny! There are a few new ones that made me chuckle a few tears of joy.
Eminem Is the Artist of the Decade
Marshall Mathers had the most album sales for this past decade? Really? It doesn’t matter if Slim released Encore in 2004 and five years later, came out with Relapse. I own both of them.
The decade’s most streamed track is Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie. Don’t watch the lies in this video!
Holiday Gift Guide: Gatorade Tiger
Need a gift for a collector? Get your hands on the Gatorade Tiger Focus drink before they run out. Gatorade has announced that they are discontinuing this Tiger Woods’ line so it’s only a matter of time before stores run out.
Once the Focus is unavailable, you’ll have to find another source of theanine. This amino acid is found in the Tiger line and supposedly “may help support and maintain mental acuity and focus.” Doesn’t help with transgressions though.
Lost Power…
Power went out, partially at first, now completely. Might as well call it quits for the day.
Lots of stars visible in the sky though. Peaceful.
